nice timing by me ...
Pros: The price/performance. My graphics card limit is around $200 (Preferably less), I like games but I don't build dedicated games machines for myself. Coming from a 2600XT, and a games hiatus, this was just the card/price for my new Windows 7 64 bit machine. It's perfect for me and likely a lot of others in my situation. Yay!!! ATI/AMD.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Something may turn up later but for now no problems. As always Newegg was fast.
The drive isn't the problem
Pros: I bought 2 of these drives when my media collection out grew the set up I'd been using. They've performed like champs.
Cons: Where is my rebate?
Overall Review: The rebate problem is the reason I'm not giving out a high rating. Does I need to complain to my State Attorney General? What's the problem here?
Works well ...
Pros: I got this based on a recommendation and I'm glad I did. Set up was 10 minutes and with wps it's secure (Let's be reasonable, I'm very unlikely to have to weather a brute force attack.).
Cons: None but if problems crop up later I'll edit this.
wireless newbie ...
Pros: It does what it says it does. The iPod Touch and the laptop have no trouble connecting and I'm not having a problem with dropped connections. Hardwarewise the router works.
Cons: The folks at D-Link made it harder than it had to be for this newbie to set up the router. The cd is only useful if everything goes perfectly if it doesn't and you have to the job manually that interface is not intuitive and the manual doesn't give you the information you need as a newb (Lots of other information but the not the "do this next" stuff they seem to think you know about.). I found what I needed in a YouTube video but I imagine other newbies must have been ready to drop kick the router.
Overall Review: Someone needs to re-write that pdf manual so that, if necessary, a newbie can follow step by step instructions. And they should probably be of the go here and do this variety. And do something about that set up cd.
just got it ...
Pros: OK, I finally got one after a lot of resistance and I'm glad I did. The TV Shows, the movies, and the music are all great and the wifi hot spots are now free for my use. I was wrong, this little "gadget" is not a toy !
Cons: None yet but I'm sure I'll find something.
Perfect for me ...
Pros: I really reluctant about acquiring tech "peripherals" but that didn't stop me from ending up with iPods and eInk readers and a budget busting need for wall warts. This cut the wall wart price considerably. Then I found out it would rescue cell phones!
Cons: OK, there's a lot of stuff it won't do but unless you're the undercover tech ( and even then ) this is an answer!
Overall Review: Just buy it already.
