Blown away

Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey Silent ATX Mid Tower Case
Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey Silent ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: Superb finish and attention to detail EVERYTHING is painted (every screw, slot cover, rail, etc.) Not a single sharp edge Excellent vent covers (paded and filtered) Heavy side panels that feel like premium car doors that shut with a solid, soft thud Great hardware USB 3.0 in the front $100... WHAT!?

Cons: The top panel pops in and out, if you push on it. No an issue for normal use. Just an observation during assembly.

Overall Review: I'm simply blown away by this case. I own the Cooler Master Cosmos, Thermaltake Element S, Antec 300, and some other well-built chassis. I build high performance workstations and servers on regular bases. Typically use LianLi cases because of the industrial design and quality at reasonable prices. Silverstone for ultra high end stuff. And SuperMicro for servers. Based on that experience I can tell you that this case is absolutely superb. Nothing gets even close in this price range. The exterior is beautiful, but I don't need to tell you what you can see in pics. What you can't see in pics is just how refined the interior is. How perfectly seals, grommets, and covers fit; no play or looseness anywhere. Absolutely every piece has been covered with soft, textured paint that seems to have been applied before assembly, which provides for a snug fit and shock absorption. Cables are soft and wraped in sleeves. The metal is thick - no stripped threads here. The side panels alone weigh as much as some cheap $20 cases while the rest of the chassis is light but very rigid. Even the expansion slot covers are so nice, I can't bring myself to tossing them. That attention to detail isn't limited to the product itself. Packaging and extras are great, too: screws are painted, stand-offs have strong deep threads and are tapered at the top, hardware is separated in individual zip-lock bags for different types of screws. The manual actually feels nice and printed sharp. Oh, and It comes with this nice little thumb screw attachment for the stand-offs. Well, for something like that, seems like plastic would do. But no, that piece is made out of metal and is painted in and out! Numerous times during the assembly I found myself thinking, "How can they do this for $100?" O.O What a proper designed and built piece of equipment. If this is what Scandinavian engineering is all about then I'm a fan from now on.

Good card. New egg owned me.

SAPPHIRE TOXIC Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card, 100243-1GTXSR
SAPPHIRE TOXIC Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card, 100243-1GTXSR

Pros: - Vapor chamber. - Preoverclocked. - Relatively quiet cooling (still a long way to my Accelero S2 with 120mm Zalman fan).

Cons: - Expansive, given you can get HD4890 for <$200 AR (although, stock cooling) - !!! I received a USED CARD !!! (all the signs in order - scratches on the HSF from laying upside-down, dents in the backplate from screws, missing warning stickers, scratches on PCI-E connectors from previous installation. I notified NewEgg, we'll see what happens. Will update as soon as I get a reply.

Overall Review: The card overclocks to 830Mhz on GPU without increasing voltage. Memory produces artifacts after 10Mhz increase, which I think is by design. And I also think that's why the previous owner (!) returned it. Overclocking GDDR5 on HD4870 is useless, so I'm not concerned. Just wish I didn't have to pay retail price for a used product :(

Great card!

Pros: Efficient cooling. Quiet. Good overclock.

Cons: Missing back plate. But EVGA ships one out for free!

Overall Review: Plug in, install drivers, install MSI Afterburner. Settings: Power limit 110 Core Clock +202 Memory +202 Save. Apply on boot. Smooth sailing.

Nice attempt.

Dell Optiplex 360 Tower Desktop PC Intel Core 2 Duo 2.80Ghz 2GB RAM 320GB HDD DVDROM Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

Pros: Cheap Win 7 Pro 160GB+ HDDs Small / clean / fresh OS

Cons: Bad HDDs. So far we have experienced a 25% failure rate within first 3 months.

Overall Review: We have about a dozen of these machines purchased in different times and from different sellers. All refurbished and supplied by Joy. So far 3 machines had to be sent back for replacement. It really becomes a drain on resources when I have to redo the same deployment tasks multiple times for several workstations.

Awesome device!

ZyXEL ZYWALL110 High Performance 1GbE SPI/300Mbps VPN Firewall with 100 IPSec and 25 SSL VPN, 7 GbE Ports and High Availability
ZyXEL ZYWALL110 High Performance 1GbE SPI/300Mbps VPN Firewall with 100 IPSec and 25 SSL VPN, 7 GbE Ports and High Availability

Pros: - Affordable - Solid construction - Extensive features, very flexible - Fast!

Cons: Virtual WANs are limited to 4. Do not mistake with VLANs. Does not tag VLANs but does recognize the tags and can shape traffic based on that.

Overall Review: I have this unit in conjunction with HP1910-48port serve 300Mbit fiber to a building with 50+ computers, 40+ IP phones, and numerous WiFi clients. Basically, a multi-tenant setup. 2 Exchange servers, Direct Access, VPN, etc. Never skips a beat. In the middle of the work day, I never see the CPU go above 10%. This thing is a beast!
