Intel Core i5-4590 - Core i5 4th Gen Haswell Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1150 84W Intel HD Graphics 4600 Desktop Processor - BX80646I54590

Pros: I purchased this CPU for a new build. This new computer is replacing my previous one, with a Pentium 4 3.4GHz from about 10 years ago. I haven't run many programs that stress the CPU very much. I installed Portal 2, Half Life 2, and I am just finishing up Starcraft 2. System Specs: Intel i5 4590 with stock cooler MSI|Z87-G41 Motherboard 16 Gigs Kingston Hyper X Fury DDR3 1600 Western Digital 1TB Hard Drive Samsung 840 Pro SSD 128 Gig Generic mid tower case with 3 120mm fans The CPU idles in the upper 30's Celsius. I have 3 tabs of firefox open, one tab with Netflix. Starcraft 2 downloading off of Battle.net and I was able to launch the game while it was finishing up its download (installation). The CPU temp went up to around 50C. Thats the hottest ive seen it yet (owned system for about 3 weeks). The case fans and CPU fan are all pretty quiet. Im not OCD about noise, but it doesn't make much noise at all. CPU fan runs around 1300 RPM on low load. With Windows 7 installed on the SSD, my computer boots up in about 10 seconds or less. Everything works great, and I am using the integrated graphics. Half Life 2 and Portal 2 play smooth on highest detail @ 1280 x 1024 (max my current monitor supports). I usually have around 12 gigs of RAM available at any given time. Windows Experience scores: Processor: 7.6 Memory(RAM): 7.8 Graphics: 6.7 Gaming Graphics: 6.7 Primary HD: 7.9

Cons: Nothing comes to mind.

Overall Review: The integrated graphics are no slouch. From the light research i have done about the integrated graphics capabilities / performance, it seems like they are pretty close to what a GeForce 750 can do. I like to play games, mostly FPS (I love Half Life 2 and Half Life Deathmatch and Portal) and Starcraft type stuff. I know eventually I will buy a graphics card to really complete the system and make it very strong, but it will take a fairly good graphics card to overtake the integrated graphics. Buying something like a GeForce 750 is basically not a improvement. With a good graphics card, this computer would basically be a well rounded strong performer, that could play any game out there on basically max settings.

Pros: Works from the beginning. Still works now, over a year later as I write this review. Edit: April 2021 and this is still working flawlessly. Very happy with my purchase.

Cons: None I can think of.

Pros: Everything works as it should. Update: May 2020. Ran Doom Eternal at 1620 Mhz and everything was fine. Kind of surprised it runs at such a high clock speed. The card has been flawless and i am extremely happy with my purchase.

Cons: I can't think of any at this time. I like how Newegg makes it easy to edit a review of a product you bought, so if I need to I will come back and edit if anything bad comes up.

Overall Review: Ok, I am not the best judge but these are my thoughts. I am coming from i5 4600 integrated graphics, and before that, a pentium 4 with a 8800gt. So this is a gigantic upgrade for me. I guess I expected a little more performance, but I dunno whatever. System Specs: i5 4590 MSI G41 mobo 16 gigs Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 1TB HDD 128 Samsung SSD 750W Rosewill Hive Asus Strix GTX 970 I got Assasin's Creed Syndicate and on 'High' settings with MSAA and something else enabled. ocular occlusion..I get around 40-43 fps consistently. I can run the game ACS at 1500Mhz core clock, and I have been running the ram at 7400Mhz. The game crashed at 1575Mhz core clock, I downclocked to 1545 and there were visible (artifacts? i believe, jagged random odd colored stuff flashing about here and there regularly). So I just run it at 1500, runs fine. 40% fan on manual and GPU temp sits at 65*C after playing ACS for hour our 2 straight. These numbers are the measured numbers not the numbers I set in GPU tweak just so ya know.

Pros: Everything has worked fine for me since purchasing in August of 2014.

Cons: Nothing has gone wrong with my unit yet. Owned it for over a year.

Overall Review: Just wanted to write this since I had an easy opportunity to do so. I continue to use my unit somewhat regularly, and it has never given me a problem. 10,000 mAh is a lot of spare juice to bring with me! I love it! Update 12/2016: Still working great. I continue to use it, though not as much as initially. Still seems to be at original capacity.

Pros: I didn't buy a refurbished version, I got a new one around 9 months ago. With that in mind. Everything has worked since the beginning, and I have owned my current build computer for about 9 months. Stable, and everything works.

Cons: Can't think of any..

Overall Review: I don't know about the refirb procedure, but my new unit has worked flawlessly for me since day one like I said, don't really know what more there is to say. oh.. i5 4590 2x 8g Kingston (cant remember 1600?) 1x 1TB Hard Drive 1x 150GB Flash Hard Drive 1x DVD rom
