Awesome PSU! Awesome price!
Pros: My old Antec Neo HE 550W could not handle my bigger build, so i bought this. Now my computer actually starts up and not in safe mode. The process of it starting up is much faster, as well as shutting down.
Cons: Lots of cables. Its hard to place them almost anywhere in my Antec 900. I practically had to cram them in there to get the side on. But oh well it doesnt hurt anything and the only thing I care about is performance, which this baby does very well.
Overall Review: - RIG - Antec 900 (5 fans), XFX 680I LT SLI, Q6600@2.4GHZ, GeIL 2GB DDR2 800 @ stock, EVGA 8800GT Superclocked @ factory set speeds, OCZ GameXStream 700W - PERIPHS - iCEMAT 2nd Edition, Razer Deathadder, Audio FX 5+1 Gaming Headphones, Microsoft wireless keyboard
An absolute joke and total waste of money!
Pros: Ha the price because its a CHEAPO!
Cons: I have never had to many connection drops and overheating issues in my life. WOW so frustrating. I can not play counterstrike or any other games, or even download stuff without the risk of it overheating or having the connection drop. If U look at multiple web pages while downloading I run a high risk of having my connection drop...AGAIN...
Overall Review: If you want to look at web pages, and STRICTLY web pages the cheapo router will do the job. But if you want to be able to multitask on the web, download, or play games, or a combination of both...prepare to be FRUSTRATED!
Gets the job done well
Pros: Looks great in my Antec 900, mounted on my XFX 680i LT SLI motherboard. While i'm downloading, browsing, and have AIM, Xfire, and Steam open I have core temps around 30-33Cs (91 degrees Fahrenheit), and with nothing running with my antec 900 (5 fans installed) running on full i've recorded temps as low as 27 Cs (80 degrees Fahrenheit). When I play graphically intense games (games maxed out) like Company of Heroes I have temps around 40-42 Cs (107 degrees Fahrenheit) I dont have any of the thermal paste people mentioned but with my extra fans in my case getting rid of heat very fast I still put up temperatures at least as good as CPUs without it. ***(Q6600, no overclock or voltage tweaks)***
Cons: It is kind of odd how the heat sink blows air towards the front of my case. I've seen people with it set up like that so either that is the way it goes or the people I've seen, as well as myself, installed it the wrong way...
Overall Review: I don't know If I did the install right...Very odd even the logo on the side is right side up and you would think that would be an indicator of the product facing the right way...even if it is in backwards I have the top two decks of my Antec 900 empty so air just gets blown out the top front and I still manage to pull the average temps without thermal paste with the questionable installation...GREAT product overall for the money and much better than stock intel junk heatsinks
Sweet, great looking stuff
Pros: At first I had mixed reactions about getting that orange looking memory. The only reason I got it was because of the reviews I read about it on "Tomshardware.com" This memory has tremendous overclocking ability...even though I use the stock timings which still allows me to play games at full resolutions and AA and other "eye candy" features. When I opened the package the memory is actually pretty awesome looking. The picture makes it look more like a bright orange when in truth it actually looks like a brownish copper looking orange. This stuff is sweet and looks great on my mobo and in my Antec 900.
Cons: Too bad I'm on a budget and Vista is still bad so im still stuck with 32-bit xp pro or else I would have bought another 2 gigs.
Overall Review: *Gaming Rig* - Antec 900, XFX 680i LT SLI, Q6600, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7, GeIL 2GB DDR2 800 Dual Channel, EVGA 8800GT Superclocked Edition, Antec Neo HE 550W, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM, *Peripherals* - Phillips 107T6 CRT, Microsoft Wireless Keyboard, iCEMAT 2nd Edition Mouse Pad, Razer DeathAdder optical mouse, eDimensional AudioFX 5+1 Gaming Headphones
Let the results do the talking
Pros: I can max out everything I throw at it. Company of Heroes everything maxed out, stays at the maximum 60 fps the entire time (1200x1000 *dont know the exact numbers* and 16AAxQ). Counterstrike: Source 1024x768 maxed out settings 150+fps. This thing can max out everything (except Crysis of course, I've heard only 1024x768 on high settings is the best it can do). An awesome buy...IF...
Cons: I am having this annoying clicking noise. I have downloaded and installed the up-to-date BIOS and Drivers and I STILL have this horrendous clicking noise. The longer I play Company of Heroes it gets worse. So I'm guessing the card is getting too hot. I thought the BIOS fixes that because of the fan speed. Still looking for a solution. I've heard of Riva Tuner but I would rather have a EVGA support feature fix it.
Overall Review: *Gaming Rig* - Antec 900, XFX 680i LT SLI, Q6600, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7, GeIL 2GB DDR2 800 Dual Channel, EVGA 8800GT Superclocked Edition, Antec Neo HE 550W, Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM, *Peripherals* - Phillips 107T6 CRT, Microsoft Wireless Keyboard, iCEMAT 2nd Edition, Razer DeathAdder, eDimensional 5+1 Gaming Headphones
Thought it had better longevity
Pros: Worked very well with my bad comp (EP-NPAJ mobo, 1gb ddr, amd 64 2ghz, 320gb Barracuda 7200rpm, geforce 6600le)
Cons: Upgraded to Antec 900, XFX 680i LT, EVGA 8800gt SC Ed., GeIL 2GB DDR2 800 Dual Channel, Q6600, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7, and a 320gb Barracuda hard drive, with this power supply. I had read that people had SLI configs of 8800gts so I thought this power supply could handle a single high end GPU. It recommends a 400 watt psu for a high end card, and 550 for SLI config., but nope epic fail.
Overall Review: looks like i'll wait another week to use my new computer seeing how i'll have to get a bigger power supply
