Worth every penny!

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 - Core 2 Duo Allendale Dual-Core 1.8 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80557E4300
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 - Core 2 Duo Allendale Dual-Core 1.8 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80557E4300

Pros: Out of the box paired with Gigabyte DS3 ver. 1.3/2 gigs of the cheap G Skill 800 RAM I overclocked it to 2.4Ghz. No problems so I set it up to 2.8. No problems so I set it to 3.0 Ghz...still no problems whatsoever...all done with stock hsf and stock voltage! I have scaled it back to 2.4Ghz because it is sooo fast I don't need more. However this chips ability to OC will leave pleanty of headroom for the years to come...worth every penny, don't get the 6000 series, this is your proc.

Cons: None yet.

Overall Review: Core 2 Duo's use a new DTS built in thermal tool for measuring both cores. The DTS signal is a digital number that represents so many degrees before the chip shuts down due to overheating. There is a huge debate right now about accurately reading the temp. Read the forums, but the bottom line from Intel is that YOU CANNOT EVER get an accurate temp on these chips. The truth is you cant really get an accurate read on any chip and therefore this DTS system, which IS 99% accurate is awesome. But most programs are trying to convert it into temps and are getting at least 15 degree offsets...Do the smart thing, go by the DTS, its more accurate and its all you need to know...

Good RAM

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ

Pros: Works great paired with Gigabyte DS3 and E4300. Great price. Looks really nice too for those with windowed cases!

Cons: none yet

Overall Review: For most E4300 users, you really dont need 800 ram due to the high multiplier (9). However, at $xx for 2GB shipped why not get it!

The 1.3 works for me

GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Many people are big on the 3.3, I purchased the version 1.3 from the egg for a great price and it posted right out of the box and has yet to give me any problems OCing. I paired it with a E4300 and have tried mild to moderate OC's 2.4/2.8/and 3.0Ghz all on stock voltage and cheap 800 G Skill RAM. Not a hiccup yet.

Cons: None so far, I love this board.

Overall Review: I have not attempted to go over 3.0Ghz because I simply dont need any more speed so I cannot comment on the board over 3.0Ghz. The OCing was easy as cake. There is a known Northbridge overheating problem when Ocing, however it is easily resolved by purchasing a new heat sink. I went with the Zalman passive blue flower, it was extremel cheap and works great. Therefore, this is no reason not to buy this board, just do yourself a favor and add the extra $x for the Northbridge heatsink when you buy the board if your gonna OC very high.
