It actually works!
Pros: Having tried various brands before, where they are DOA, I was completely skeptical. However, the favorable-reviews convinced me and they are right! Plus, it has an eSATA port. I am basically giving it 5 stars because it does its job, which is not common with this type of device.
Cons: None yet
Doesn't Boot!
Pros: None.
Cons: I have worked exclusively with Asus mobo's for the last 10+ years, and this is the first that didn't do anything - no beeps, nothing! Had to run to my local computer center to buy the M2A-VM HDMI, and now everything is working! I will RMA this tonight, at my cost of shipping.
Overall Review: Despite the weird procedures others have tried (using one stick of RAM first, updating BIOS, adding other stick later, etc, etc.) none worked. Amazingly, the green standby LED was as clear as a bell.
Don't buy!
Pros: I bought the $20 upgrade directly from Acronis.
Cons: It now requires activation! Search their forums - there's issues, and with the type of product, you're at risk of not being able to restore!
Great motherboard
Pros: I love the 2 PS/2 connectors - some motherboards won't recognize the keyboard setup-key when using USB. Everything works under Win7/64bit: ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1) LGA 1155 Intel P67 N82E16813131771 Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz N82E16819115070 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) N82E16820231315 GIGABYTE GV-N56GOC-1GI GeForce GTX 560 N82E16814125383 OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G SSD N82E16820227706 Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM N82E16822136284 OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W N82E16817341017 ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner N82E16827135204 Nippon Labs Delux 3.5" Internal All In One Card Reader N82E16820816001 Antec 900 Case N82E16811129021
Cons: Too many choices for this motherboard can be confusing (Pro, non-pro, M version, etc.) Had to compare (painfully) the various models on Asus' website to see what I am gaining/losing.
Best price/performance
Pros: When on sale (or rebate) it packs the most power for the money. It works perfectly in this configuration with Windows 7 64 bit: ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1) LGA 1155 Intel P67 N82E16813131771 Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz N82E16819115070 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) N82E16820231315 GIGABYTE GV-N56GOC-1GI GeForce GTX 560 N82E16814125383 OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G SSD N82E16820227706 Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM N82E16822136284 OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W N82E16817341017 ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner N82E16827135204 Nippon Labs Delux 3.5" Internal All In One Card Reader N82E16820816001 Antec 900 Case N82E16811129021

Works perfectly
Pros: Quiet and proficient. Works with C1, C3 and C6 modes of standby/sleep, and my entire unit powers-down including the case-fans in this configuration: ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1) LGA 1155 Intel P67 N82E16813131771 Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz N82E16819115070 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) N82E16820231315 GIGABYTE GV-N56GOC-1GI GeForce GTX 560 N82E16814125383 OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G SSD N82E16820227706 Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM N82E16822136284 OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W N82E16817341017 ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner N82E16827135204 Nippon Labs Delux 3.5" Internal All In One Card Reader N82E16820816001 Antec 900 Case N82E16811129021
