Wintec AMPX 2GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model 3AXT6400C5-2048
Wintec AMPX 2GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model 3AXT6400C5-2048

Pros: It is cheap; it also comes in one 2 gig stick instead of two one gig. I just upgraded from 1gb to 3gb and it makes a huge difference in xp. It's even made in the usa.

Cons: None

ALMOST PERFECT just an extra hard drive carriage

Pros: i was very skeptical about this brand never heard of it, the design ALL INTAKE FANS!?! ehhh i did like the removable filters and front they are insanely good at dust prevention the rgb header can work from the case if you board does not have an information header which mine did not so that was nice actually tho if this company is reading this if there is any way to get some kind of adapter for the 3-pin and pwm to like USB? or something for dat and rpm control

Cons: ONE HDD bay is there a way to mount a second hdd if not very annoying for me and i dont want to go get a large ssd when i have a large hdd ready to go but dont want to leave a hdd loose in the case.... please get back to me on this and the rgb control problem i plugged the 4-pin pwm into sys fan 1 header and the bios can recgonize it sort of but always at 0 rpm and when i manually tell it up or down i hear the fans rev but rpm stays 0 - but in icue they all show temp sensors? its weird please help idk anything about rgb headers my last build was like early 2016 all the fans were like molex still lol i just wish there was a usb or some other type of adapter for these headers so that i could integrate the fan control into the system - and more so for cooling control idc about pretty lights as much they are nice but not the prioriety i want the system to be able to adjust the fans by heat so i dont run them at 100% as id like them to last and dont want to have to spend like 70 to 90 for new fans and header half the reason i got this case was the fans came with it for big savings in theory

Overall Review: make sure your mobo has a 3 pin rgb information header i guess , and dont count on more than one hdd, and sdd also deff use a modular supply as mine is non modular Evga 500wB80+ and the wires can bee seen in the bottom personally idc but someone with ocd worse than mine will and a heads up a good case for what i paid (not worth more than 70-80) tempered glass is THICK feels and looks high end very nice , both sides allow easy cable access and management i have been recommending this case and MSI b660M-P ddr4 board as i did this with an i3 and love it, but i just wish someone could get back to me on the controller compatibility issue and a workaround such as an adapter cable usb or otherwise as i would like everything to play nice other than that it is solid i run a i3`12100F with stock cooler and a gtx 960 oc 4gb card atm hey its zero dark thirty for the gpu industry imo and anything that can run 1080p is good enough for now im NOT paying $500+ for a MID range GPU ostensibly a 150-200 msrp part idc it has extra cores by that logic an i9 should be 2 grand.... but yes the intake fans filter all the air coming in and allow it vent out the top using positive air pressure (personally negative air pressure approach is better imo) but for 3-400w of stuff under load it kept the sys below 70 and cpu maxed 83 on a hot day so it can cool like a 1650super or anything thats around 120-130w base tdp gpu i would say, tho it does get toasty after a few hours under load so for heavy heavy gamers i would be careful excedding those wattages without additional cooling like aios , but for a case with fans honestly if they can help me get their controller to this motherboard or usb workaround id give it 5 stars tbh its a SOLID starter case that has room to upgrade an aio and more fans even OH also there should be a FILTER on the BACK fan, tbh just take the one off the bottom and switch it to the back fan imo a lot bettter, and i need that issue solved as it seeems they only run at 30-50% by default so under heavy load seem way worse then thay prob are could really use help from anyone with rgb header experience this is my first one

best budget LGA1700 board around in my opinion

MSI PRO B660M-P DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI PRO B660M-P DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: -the manual while confusing does provide important information to prevent damage to parts -DEBUG LEDS that WORK , i love that as i was doing a build and did not have newer parts to swap so a godsend for someone trying to troubleshoot with a single cpu ect. -installing the cpu was a snap- literally they have a plastic cover system that makes you feel like your gunna break your cpu in half but it makes a snap pops and then the bracket comes down, installing the fan (i3-12100k) was also a litterally snap, 4 snaps and the fan was in i actaully wiggled it a bunch as i could not belive how easy it just popped in lol the board has all the things and checked all the boxes really for upgrading into the next decade not really a lot of cons except these oh FOUR ram slots IDK WHY but like no motherboard has this feature in this price segment its great if you want to only get 16gb now then get another identical pack a bit later on to save some on the initial build is what i did and plan to do, 16gb still feels almost like overkill for me but i imagine heavier gaming and streaming ect 32gb will be relevant soon if not already so like i know a lot of people trying to make budget streaming rigs and this is the board for that or anything where you want to start cheap and upgrade eg get an i3 now then later on go for a raptor lake i5.i7.i9 if its really not meeting your demands with an aio, but its way cheaper for like a 100 for a cpu and cooler combo (which is surprisingly good btw)

Cons: only ONE (at least to my knowledge) Nvme drive slot, cmon at this point even budgets should have at least 2-3 as i see like 6 on H chipsets, i would assume even a lowly b660 could support TWO nvme slots? i mean like would like just a two nvme and two sata board so i have room to upgrade easier as i hate reinstalling windows to another boot disk i dont mind and in fact like one small very very high quality drive for os and then slower larger drives for storage used this approach since like sata ssds and before than sata hdds lol but always did a small faster os drive and seperate drive for games so its not a deal breaker with one nvme slot but i see that as a major con for a lot who want just better speeds and only play a few games that they want the best preformance in, its sold as a business board i guess that means cheap I/o board MSI i know your reading this would it actually KILL margins to give us some GD usb 3 ports on the back why 4 2.0 and 1 3 and thats it again MORE PORTS should have had 8, if you do 4 2.0 usb i mean they are okay but 3.x usb is just so much better and reverse to 2.0 so its really a matter of cutting cost not coooool cmon its already cheaped out on like i/o and like wish they were usb 3.x ports instead of so many 2.0 i didnt really read into usb tooo much and the way the pics looked it looked like they were 3 not 2 so bit of a mislead there the xmp doesnt work despite a decent cooling case, and xmp compatible corsair memory literally says "xmp" verified -i have "gears" and keep it in 1 cause idk what tf those are, would that affect why it crashes when i put xmp on (ftr the corsair vengence ddr4-3200mhz runs only 200-300mhz slower than regular withot xmp so its not like a HUGGGGE leap even just annoying it doesnt work when i have compatible ram unless the i3-12100F is the problem or the gears?) terrible customer service as opposed to other brands, no help at all when it came to instillation and the manual while helpful also is PICTURES with very few written things so yeah like at least commission a better artist please

Overall Review: bottom line for around 100 this is the best budget intel lga1700 board ive seen and has FOUR ram slots which is MUST for me , has great upgrade potential and it honestly is sleeeeek looking has a very high end aesthetic and i reccomend if possible getting a pcb board gpu that is also that dark color as it looks REALLY nice inside a case and isn't too loud its elegant and "just enough" imo pairs well with the case i got and it has some flaws but they are more about lack of ports and a case with some extra new usbs can help with that i mean i have been reccomending this specific board just as its great for new builders as the debug leds work and its nice to know if your cpu is DOA , esp if you or a friend doesnt have a alder or raptor lake cpu oh yeah it also says it can do raptor lake with a bios update as to how stable it is idk, i got it get a 12700K or 12900k later on but if raptor lake is significantly better nice to have an option as for once this socket works for 12 and 13 gen cpu, the board runs very cold with an i2-12100f and stock cooler hardly above 50c on it at max load for hours ever on a hot day love this board and actually first msi purchase i usually use evga or gigabyte but read msi and gigabyte merged and well they make the best budget board if you are scrapin the barrel or just dont feel like a huge initial investment with the right case and psu you can upgrade and have a good system for a long time i hate changing boards out so if i get one i want to last for a few years at least 5-6 with a good cpu upgrade id give it 4.5/5 only becasue of the 1 nvme m2 slot , and the 1 usb 3 port , add more and ill give it a 5/5 but also want one of those then lol msi killed it on this in the best possible way just add an m2 slot and take off 10$ and you have the best budget lga1700 board period lol

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ - Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane Dual-Core 2.2 GHz Socket AM2 65W Processor - ADO4200DOBOX

Pros: this processor is a great budget processor that can handle just about anything I do a lot of gaming and it can run all of my games at full settings (except for crisis) also it only uses 65 watts and can be over clocked to 2.8ghz on stock cooling

Cons: none

Overall Review: this i s a good processor for a gaming or budget pc and can handle everything i can throw at it
