Great Memory

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C11D-8GAB
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C11D-8GAB

Pros: Great memory, change a setting in the bios and you get DDR 2400 as advertised every time! Lower profile than the Ripjaws series Love the Blue color Good looking Memory I have used Gskill Ares and Ripjaws memory in many system builds over the past several years, I have never had a problem with any of them! Reliability

Cons: none

Overall Review: If using a Hyper 212 evo or similar cpu cooler, this memory just barely fits under the fan in most motherboards, it does touch but does fit, on the hyper 212 evo you can just move the fan up to gain extra clearance though.

good case/cheapest with 2x fp usb 3.0

CFI Prime 211 CFI-A4896 Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
CFI Prime 211 CFI-A4896 Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is the cheapest case i could find with 2x usb 3.0 front panel connectors that hooked up with an internal header. no stupid wire pass through out of the back of the case. in fact there are 4x usb 2.0 ports plus the usb 3.0 so there are tons of usb ports. The blue light on the front fan looks nice, the fans are very quiet. Enough room to mount a good bit of hardware, without being a big case, cooling is good, the back case side has tie down points for wires and the case is bulged a little to fit some wires, but not much.

Cons: Wire managment is difficult even though it has tie down points and a bulging back side panel, there is not much room, and no room for cutouts on top of motherboard for cpu power connector so you cannot run that behind the tray. I had to get a little creative to make the 8pin cpu power route in a way as to not get tangled in the fans but it can be done just takes time and good wire management skills. the case is made in china and the metal is slightly flimsy in areas, however the case seems to be solid enough. the Hdd bays are not tool less, i had to unscrew screws from the back to get them out. only 1 fan has a 3pin connector for the motherboard the rest are molex connectors. the looks of the case in my opinion are ok, not my favorite though. the ventilation for the bottom mounted psu to suck air in from the bottom was not big enough to fit the whole fan on my corsair builter series cx430 so i mounted it upside down with the fan exhausting air from inside the case.

Overall Review: Overall if you are on a tight budget and you need front panel usb 3.0 ports and a bunch (4) usb 2.0 ports on the front this case is the cheapest one i could find that met that criteria and i would say buy it. I am not sure but i think you could even fit a 212+ cooler in there, dont hold me to that though just eyeballing it. Otherwise if you have extra room in the budget get a better case with better wire management.

good cable works great.

Tripp Lite U324-006 Blue USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Extension Cable (AA M/F), 6 ft.

Pros: Price, speed, it works.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Good cable. I got it to extend the usb wifi dongle away from my computer to get better reception it worked and I am getting the speed that I expect from the usb adapter so no loss in speed due to the cable. I would buy again.

One of the Best Psu's

SeaSonic X-1050 ( SS-1050XM2 ) 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Quality Jonny Guru recommended Silent Incredibly stable voltage's Made in USA

Cons: one of the modular cable sata power pugs back came off and exposed the wires. never seen that happen before.

Overall Review: This is the best PSU I have used in a system to date! When monitoring the voltages i was amazed to see them exactly at what they were supposed to be no + or - at all...I have never seen that before. 3.3v =3.3 volt 5 volt = 5 volt...etc quiet operation, even mode for silent operation. only problem i had was after i put my system together and wired it up, i double checked everything like always and noticed on one of the sata power plugs the back was missing and the wires were exposed, this could have been bad if they touched the case while on, I have never seen that before and I have been building pc's for 15 years. it is a modular psu so i just removed that whole wire and used a different wire in its place.

Great everyday use Hard drive

WD Blue 500GB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD5000AAKX

Pros: Quiet Performance for price Reliability

Cons: none

Overall Review: If you have a build that you do not need the speed of the WD Black drives go for this Blue drive, Performance is better than the Green drive and they are very reliable drives, and quiet. I have used these in many pc builds and so far for the past 5 years have not had a single one fail!

Great NAS Drives.

WD Red Plus 3TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD30EFRX
WD Red Plus 3TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD30EFRX

Pros: Performance Reliability

Cons: Price

Overall Review: I have used these drives in 3 different Nas devices for the past 4 years. They have performed flawlessly. not one problem with them. probably the best drives for NAS storage devices. I have seen some people use these in pc's ...dont use these for pc's they are designed to run in NAS devices not pc's use the wd black or blue drives for pc's!
