AMD VS INTEL

Pros: Most people who down these CPU's simply do not fully evaluate them... These units are the most reliable day in day out piece of computing performance you can buy. Period. I build an average of 5 PC's a week, after many years in this business I now use Asrock and AMD almost exclusively simply because I hate doing tech support. Use an Asrock board with a good CPU cooler and these units OC well and are ROCK solid!
Cons: Intel CPU's do better at benchmark testing, this is because they are engineered for the current bench mark tests available on the market. I wish AMD benched better in order to improve the standing they have among end users. In REAL WORLD, everyday computing they cannot be beaten.
Overall Review: Most of my customers are extremely aware of the budget restrictions they have regarding PC's. For the money, and if you know what you are doing, you can spec out a system using a high grade board from Asrock and an AMD CPU like this one to provie your customer with excellent value. In this Newegg also ROCKS!
Cheap

Pros: Cheap and they work, recognized by all OS no problems.
Cons: Sometimes do not line up well inside HTPC case
Overall Review: cheap and they work
Good, good good

Pros: Using them with 785 chipsets just fine for a while now
Cons: pricing is not coming down as it should, one set in 20 will be DOA
Overall Review: Good RAM for the money.
HOT CPU

Pros: Good performance and pricing but run HOT!!!
Cons: Standard HSF would not handle the load inside an HTPC case.... had to go with a low profile Arctic cooler
Overall Review: The costs of having to use a seperate HSF to make them run cool ebough out weight the benifit of buying them go for the AM3 65W CPU.
That darn button

Pros: Fast, cheap and reliable....
Cons: that little round eject button.
Overall Review: If you use a case that features a hidden drive bay such as the Thermaltake lan boxes the round button will not contact the eject button on the drive.. took some creative thinking but a small piece of velcro to shorten the gap did the trick.
GREAT BUDGET BUILDER

Pros: I use these for my HTPC's now. GREAT little board and easy as pie to build out.
Cons: NO EIDE or 1394, lack USB 3.0
Overall Review: If these had USB 3.0 they would truly rock, ferrite choke, colid caps and a well proven design make them a favorite in my arena.
