Great CPU, Terrible Shipping

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ - Athlon 64 X2 Toledo Dual-Core 2.2 GHz Socket 939 Processor - ADA4400CDBOX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ - Athlon 64 X2 Toledo Dual-Core 2.2 GHz Socket 939 Processor - ADA4400CDBOX

Pros: 939 pin supported by many motherboards, Dual Core Processor, Multi-tasking is now a reality.

Cons: Shipping by UPS

Overall Review: UPS Shipping is horrible! Ordered on Sunday before Turkey day on the 3 day free UPS and I didn't recieve it until 7pm Monday after T-day, 8 days total, since UPS didn't ship on Friday or Sat while Fed-Ex trucks were rolling past my house. Then the box had a huge punctured hole. When questioned about the hole, I was told "so, what do you what me to do about it?" Luckily no damage to the CPU. I'll never use UPS again!

Most Critical Review

Works well when Drives are good

WD My Book Live Duo 6TB Personal Cloud Storage
WD My Book Live Duo 6TB Personal Cloud Storage

Pros: - Easy to connect to router and setup - Smallish footprint - Large capacity

Cons: - Unreliable HDD failed after 24 hours - Mirroring did not work to save Data from bad HDD - Lack of technical documentation - RMA will be the whole unit, not just the bad HDD.

Overall Review: When I first setup this drive, I used Mirroring which is RAID 1 so 6GB was only 3GB. Issued started right after I copied 2.5GB of important files to the drive. It kept disconnecting. I ran system test and Drive B failed. RMA to replace just that drive wasn't available. WD wanted me to ship back the whole unit, WHAT!?! I cancelled the RMA and just bought a 3GB drive to replace it. Also the mirroring didn't rebuild the raid..Had to do a full reset. Lucky i didn't lose any Data since it happened so soon after data transfer.

Best price to features for a 5 bay, 3.5" HDD bay NAS.

QNAP TS-563-2G-US Diskless System 5-Bay AMD 64bit x86-based NAS, Quad Core 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, 2 x 1GbE, 10G-ready
QNAP TS-563-2G-US Diskless System 5-Bay AMD 64bit x86-based NAS, Quad Core 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, 2 x 1GbE, 10G-ready

Pros: Good price to features. AMD CPU for decoding videos to multiple devices can create several accounts for friends and family to access with the ability to deny areas within.

Cons: Noisy when being accessed Configuration documentation does not exist. Trail and error was my only hope. No Text LED display No HDMI port.

Overall Review: 5 Seagate IronWolf 6TB NAS Hard Drive ST6000VN0041 Took me 2 days to set up in a raid 5. Have to create the pool first then configure the RAID. This NAS is not for a non-tech person, there is no wizard interface to help you configure this device.

Works in QNAP TS-563

Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT102464BF160B

Pros: Large capacity RAM for cheap

Cons: None

Overall Review: Quality product from a quality company for the lowest price!

First Seagate HDD in about 15 years. Seems that my worries about quality were overblown.

Seagate IronWolf 6TB NAS Hard Drive 7200 RPM 128MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive ST6000VN0041

Pros: Large capacity made for NAS Cheaper and faster than WD red Free Shipping arrived in 2 days.

Cons: None so far X-fingers

Overall Review: Bought 5 for QNAP TS-563 and they all worked with no errors. Ran complete error test for 48 hours with no errors on all 5. Packaged very well with top quality clam shell air protectors.

Holds up great after 1 year

Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5
Intel 730 Series 2.5" 480GB SATA 6Gb/s MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSC2BP480G4R5

Pros: Quality Reliability 5 year warranty Enterprise caliber up to 70GB writes per day for five years rating.

Cons: Price per GB Read/Write speed fluctuates greatly 240/480

Overall Review: Bought 2 480 during 2014 Black Friday sales. I have formatted and partitioned them both over 20 times to find the best RAID and OS boot configuration that works for me. Win7 now10 and Linux. Crystal disk reports both SSD at 100% with Zero degradation across all the scanned Attribute Names. Even my older Samsung 840 didn't hold up to this after 1 year. Priced right at 199-480 129-240. Still too expensive at current price.
