Pleased overall
Pros: Powerful i7 CPU, very capable nVidia GeForce GT 330M GPU, spacious 500GB HDD, bargain basement price Excellent for HD video editing and playback. Plenty of power for RAW photo post-processing. True 16:9 screen makes for true widescreen experience and allows for full numberpad. Gorgeous glossy black finish.
Cons: Everyone is right about it being a fingerprint magnet. Keyboard feels a bit poor in quality. Screen resolution is low (but HD video still looks fantastic). Battery life is poor if machine is set up for high performance. No Blu-Ray drive.
Overall Review: I've been very pleased with this machine overall and can't knock it for the cons. I knew about those items going in and still bought it based on the price to performance ratio. The only thing that almost made me pass on this machine is the lack of a Blu-Ray drive.
Very fast, security of free-fall sensor
Pros: Very fast hard drive. This drive has reduced my boot time by about 10-15 seconds over my previous 80GB 7200 drive. Apps load somewhat quicker. Good size for the price along with the boost in performance. HD Tach score improved average read rate from 49 to 70 MB/s while reducing Random Access time from 22 to 14 ms. Burst up to 214 MB/s from 150 MB/s.
Cons: Potentially reduced battery performance, time will tell. Nothing else I can see.
Overall Review: Western Digital provides free access to Acronis disk cloning program for easy drive replacement. Free fall sensor is some peace of mind for on the job work with my laptop. Newegg ordering and shipping is always first-rate. Highly recommended
