Perfect
Pros: Bought 2 of these and both were perfect. No bad pixels here. Good value. These are my forst flat panels and I am still getting used to them, but the colors are brilliant and CRT's are now history for me.
Cons: None
Another CD reading problem
Pros: Able to read and write DVD ok. Takes 10 seconds or so for the drive to adjust it's speed.
Cons: Same problem as other users have had. This is the second unit I have received with the same problem. The drive has problems reading the Nero CD that comes with it. My old legacy CD drive reads the Nero cd just fine. I think NewEgg may have received a batch of defective units that are marginal in the CD reading feature. RMA'd it and hope the next unit is better. If not I will return and buy a different unit.
Overall Review: Wish I had read other user comments about this problem before I RMA'd this one. I would have requested a refund and purchased a different unit. I think the probabiity of getting a bad unit seems unacceptablly high.
Buy This One
Pros: Bought this one after I got 2 duds made by Liteon. New Egg was great and gave me a refund ont he Liteon so I could buy this one. This one is perfect. It runs quiet and it is fast enoughg for me. I have burned 6 DVD';s so far and no problems.
Cons: None
Nice Fan
Pros: Has lots of extra goodies, speed contro pot that fits into an empty rear slot in your case, or you can control the speed with a temperature probe that sticks to a het sink etc. Also can be run full speed with no speed control at all, and has a speed reporting lead to attach to your MB fan connector to report speed to the system. Pushes lots of air at full speed. Pretty blue led's
Cons: rather loud at full speed
2nd one works
Pros: compact design, and reads sony Memory Sticks. Floppy works fine, resonably priced, saves space so I dont have to use a 5.25 in bay.
Cons: none
Bought 4 this month
Pros: Been using Maxtor drives for over 10 years. I hve some 10GB units that are 10 years old and still working great, albiet a lot slower thatn these drives. IN 10 years I have only had 1 failure on Maxtor drives. I bought 2 of these in December and liked them so much I bought 2 more. Fast Quiet and reliable. Be sure to use 80 conductor drive cables as ATA133 drives can be flakey with older 40 conductor cables even if you use them on a older, slower mobo. I found that out the hard way.
Cons: None.
Bait and Switch seller
Seller advertised NEW Western Digital Blue drives and sent used WD white drives and one was defective. I will be requesting a full refund including shipping. Do not deal with this seller.
