Some bad drives out there....

Pros: Fast, cool running... great in a Raid 0 configuration. Purchased a couple of Raptors to install Win 7 on an IBM Workstation (dual Xeon).
Cons: Two out of four refurbished drives were defective, not passing the WD extended diagnostics. On a good drive, it took about 10 minutes to format; on a bad drive, the format ran overnight and was only 3% complete.
Overall Review: NewEgg was great concerning replacement drives... quick shipping, no hassles .... My only other comment is that these refurb drives should be thoroughly tested before being sold
Ran OK, then failed twice

Pros: Very nice monitor, easy to adjust
Cons: Failed twice and the Samsung web site is full of errors when you try to request service..
Overall Review: I would buy another brand
Great !

Pros: LEDs let me know what USB ports are still working (have power) when my computer is off. Lets me recharge my phone & gps.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I would add a second hub when the price comes down...
Fast!

Pros: Loaded Ubuntu Studio..... Comes up in less than 10 seconds on a 8 core AMD chip. No complaints!
Cons: Really no cons.. just hope that the price continues to drop..
Overall Review: As usual, New Egg is a great company to do business with... repeated purchases over the years and never a problem!
Bad Documentation!

Pros: Great card, great performance, reasonable price. I've had it running for about 6 hours.
Cons: Very bad documentation. The "easy" install is to remove the computer covers, find an open slot, insert the card and close the covers. Even the website is not helpful. What's needed to make this work are 2 power connectors, one 8 pin and one 6 pin. I found out about these on a previous review. The card will NOT work without these extra power connections.
Overall Review: I had tried 2 different monitors, 3 cables (VGA/DVI) all to no results. Thank goodness that the motherboard displays codes... last code was booting to a legacy system. All MSI needed to do was say that both connectors had to have power.... and I would not have wasted several hours. I was close to an RMA with this card....
A Second Chance....

Pros: Very nice unit, easy to set up. Took (3) 3 terabyte drives & one 1TB. Gives me 9.1 TB of storage. Had to upgrade Ethernet cables to take full advantage of speed.
Cons: Interface should be a browser application. Not easy to create public storage.... One major drawback is that your video driver may cause the Drobo application to crash upon start up. I have an ATI card & am running Win7. The system was using the MS supplied driver. I looked at the pgm dump and saw video info.. installed ATI and all is OK
Overall Review: I would get another unit if/when they go on sale. I got an RMA for this as it was crashing all time. After the video driver being switched, the Drobo app ran fine.
Not the first purchase from them..
Yes, I would recommend! So far, no problems with 7 drives purchased from them. I will again consider purchasing on my next project!
