Update
Pros: New drivers and BIOS posted 12/15 on Adaptec support page corrected all the speed and lockup issues. Tech support is responsive and helpful. This controller now runs great and is highly recommended.
Cons: No more issues.
Overall Review: Using Windows Server 2003 with 2-WD Raptor 10k 6gb/s 450GB drives in a RAID 1 configuration.
Great when they work
Pros: I use a fair number of Geil memory modules as well as other manufacturers and they all seem to work well. Problem is when you get one that is defective. See cons.
Cons: Big con is if you get a stick that fails, you have to jump through hoops and spend too much to return product to Taiwan and wait 2-3 months for replacement. Shipping expense in many cases doesn't justify the return. So either buy a brand that has support in this country, or don't buy Geil.
Overall Review: I don't think I will buy Geil again since I buy quite a bit and the chances are high that I will have failures.
Not as good as I expected
Pros: Fast when working
Cons: When I first installed in my ASrock Z790 Riptide, it only came up as a Gen3 device. Then after a while it showed as Gen 5 with 11200 reads and 5300 writes using Crystal DiskMark. I use Hard Disk Sentinel to monitor the health of my drives. Right after I installed the T700 it showed 14% health and running @ 53-72 degrees. And this one has the factory heat sink. Also caused many BSOD's
Overall Review: Not sure if this is a used device or just a bad one. SMART showed high usage for a brand new device. The specs looked great.
Dell Monitors
Pros: Stable Dell monitor
Cons: These refurbished monitors are horrible. They have scratches and dings all over them. Not refurbished at all. I think all they do is plug it in and if it works, its refurbished. Don't buy these.
Overall Review: Will never buy any more refurbs from Newegg.
Not impressed with Adata support
Pros: Good when it works
Cons: I cannot get Adata to respond to any of my RMA or support requests after 2 weeks of trying. This unit is still under warranty, Not a company I would do business with again. When you need a drive replacement, you need it quick. Forget Adata.
Overall Review: Non existent support
Dock has some incompatibility issues.
Pros: Works fast with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 adapter. Easy to clone a drive. Copy progress indicator is nice.
Cons: Does not work with Western Digital Blue 3.5" drives. Seagate, Hitachi, and Toshiba drives work fine. WD drives work fine in a Seagate USB enclosure. Tried three WD Blues. Didn't have any other WD models to try. Lost 2 stars for incompatibility.
Overall Review: You must have a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port or you will not see the 10Gbps speeds.
