Works great with Ubuntu 8.10

Pros: Works out-of-the-box with Ubuntu 8.10 and Windows Vista. Plug and play. Getting good enough speeds to watch shows on Hulu without a problem.
Cons: Did not work so well with Ubuntu 8.04 out-of-the-box. When I plugged it in, it worked, but it caused system-wide performance stalls every few seconds. I had to manually compile and install the rt2x00 SerialMonkey driver, uninstall Network Manager, and tinker with /etc/network/interfaces. This finally got it working smoothly, but it was a big headache, and having to uninstall Network Manager meant that I no longer had the nice wireless status icon informing me of signal strength, etc. I should note that all these problems went away with Ubuntu 8.10.
Overall Review: Although it had problems with Ubuntu 8.04, it works great with Ubuntu 8.10.
Great case for a budget computer

Pros: Fit my micro-ATX motherboard with bulky components being Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.b CPU cooler and GTX 770 graphics card relatively comfortably.Good airflow.
Cons: The i/o shield was fiddly to install, but doable.Case fan is definitely not quiet, but is tolerably noisy. The screw that secures the case expansion slots was in way too tightly, and I damaged it a little trying to unscrew it. Oh well.
Overall Review: Overall, I was extremely happy with this case for the price.
Works great

Pros: Been using it for a month using both Ubuntu and Vista with no problems. Bright picture, big screen, reasonable price, free shipping.
Cons: The annoying ASUS splash screen that shows up when it comes back from sleep. (I suspect this can be disabled by digging into the setup menu.) Not very visible from low angles (i.e., when your eye level is substantially below the monitor).
Overall Review: Haven't tried the speakers.
very good monitor

Pros: No dead pixels. Excellent display quality and color. Low price.
Cons: Plastic buttons feel low quality. Low quality built-in speakers. Stand is not super adjustable.
Overall Review: I have had this monitor for about 3 months now and am very pleased with it.
very good

Pros: Works as advertised. Reads and burns CDs and DVDs. The Ahead Nero software included is easy to install and use.
Cons: It took a while to realize that I needed to enable recording on this drive in WinXP to get CD writing to work. I have to do this every time I restart or reconnect the drive. Not a big deal.
