Excellent mid-priced laptop

Lenovo IdeaPad 130 Laptop, 15.6" HD Display, AMD A9-9425 Upto 3.70GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, DVDRW, HDMI, Card Reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Windows 10 Home
Lenovo IdeaPad 130 Laptop, 15.6" HD Display, AMD A9-9425 Upto 3.70GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, DVDRW, HDMI, Card Reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Windows 10 Home

Pros: - 16GB RAM - 1TB SSD - 3.1GHz processor - DVDRW drive (showing up less and less on current laptops) These four things were why I bought this laptop.

Cons: - a third USB port would have been nice with the way I use a wireless keyboard and mouse. An extra one would have allowed me to use my USB drive as well, but this was minor. I bought a four port USB hub and solved the problem. - I would have liked a backlit keyboard, but not a show stopper - I was hoping the casing would be like my son's where it feels like a metal material, but I understand why it wasn't. Besides, the laptop I replaced with this one was of the same plasticky material so am used to it. Again, not a big deal. - This is the only that's kind of big one. It doesn't have the Precision Touchpad, which isn't mentioned in the description. Doesn't have any configuration, except for sensitivity, but does everything I'm used to. Once I learned more about the Precision Touchpads, I thought that would have been nice. The things I didn't like were minor and if I would have wanted them that bad, the ones I found didn't have all the performance items I really wanted. So, no big deal.

Overall Review: - I've had this for a 10 days or so with everything on it that I need. I loaded Libre Office and a host of other freeware stuff I needed. So far, very pleased. For the price, I'm more than willing to take the plasticky casing but have the performance stuff. I used it to voice record my Bible School classes and it did great. I would recommend this laptop at this price.

Western Digital Blue WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Connected the drive to an MSI K8T Neo FIS2R mb (150 Mb/s). Set it up in Windows XP but loaded Suse 10.0 with no complications. Suse 10.0 had no problem recognizing all of my components. Very satisfied with $xx drive.

Cons: If I had to be picky, it would have been nice if the drive came with the jumpers for pins 5&6, but three of them were only $1.08. More of a convenience thing, but the drive is great.

Overall Review: My mb is 150 Mb/s so I had to jumper pins 5&6 on back of HD with no issues. Three jumpers cost $1.08 at local computer store.
