Shell Shocker

Patriot Signature Line 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model PSD38G1600KH
Patriot Signature Line 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model PSD38G1600KH

Pros: Extremely good deal for a 8GB of DDR3 1600 RAM. Plus it has sexy blue brushed aluminum looking heatspreaders. Came with a $10 rebate, so was only about $20 after tax for me. Most importantly, it worked straight out of the box with the correct timings, voltage, and frequency.

Cons: At the price after rebate, I don't think I can come up with any complaints.

Overall Review: Always look around for shell shocker deals, you never know what kind of awesome deals there will on things you might want.

Pros: High Efficiency, Modular, High quality, and good customer service.

Cons: None at all, but to a lot of people, maybe the price.

Overall Review: I bought the X650 for the same price after coupon. I am so mad at Newegg for putting a sale on the 750 after I bought the X650. Why do you do this NEWEGG!!!!!???

Works but ear busting loud when it is working.

Pros: Cheap and it works. I can't comment on how fast it read or writes in terms of benchmark figures but I can tell you by the sound of it whenever I pop in a disk, that it is spinning extremely fast.

Cons: Very Loud when it is trying to read a disk.

Overall Review: It's the loudest component in my system behind my hard drives, but only when it is in operation so it's not too big of a nuisance.

Pros: Fast Cheap Sata6 3 year warranty Western Digital

Cons: Isn't dead silent.

Overall Review: Western Digital's factories in Thailand have been flood and production has come to a halt. It is why the prices have risen to so exorbitantly. From their official press release: "IRVINE, Calif.-Oct. 17, 2011-Western Digital Corp. (NYSE: WDC) today announced that it has extended the suspension of its operations in Thailand. Over the weekend, rising water penetrated the Bang Pa-in Industrial Park flood defenses, inundating the company's manufacturing facilities there and submerging some equipment. At the other company manufacturing location in Thailand, Navanakorn Industrial Park, the park flood defenses were breached on Monday morning local time and water has begun to flow into the park threatening the company's facilities there. All WD employees in Thailand remain safe. "

Pros: Very Cheap. Works out of the box. It Overclocks pretty decently. Low Profile Heatsink. Cool looking design, that doesn't look gaudy like some other high performance RAMs. Currently Overclocked on my Sandy Bridge build @ 1866Mhz with 1.65v XMP timings 9-13-13-34 1T.

Cons: Nothing really when it's this cheap.

Pros: Samsung RMA was a breeze to deal with. Even though the RMA was contracted to a 3rd party company, the whole process was easy and pleasant to deal with. The drive it self is a pretty quiet drive and has decent speeds for what I do. It's the primary and only HDD in my MSI A6200-038 laptop and I utilize photo editing software, download tons of music, and movies with it. It performed really well until it decided to die on me after a series of BSODs. I ended up losing precious pictures and documents. I've since learned my lesson and do regular backups. Overall, this is a great HDD for the price and capacity. With Mechanical hard drives there is an inherent risk of possible corruption of fail simply because it is mechanical, however, I have been pretty happy with this HDD for the time that it was functioning.

Cons: Drive corrupted and died after 6 months.

Overall Review: Samsung's RMA has a pretty quick turn around time (approximately 1 week, their service center is in New Jersey, I live in California). Wish they would have recovered my data but I guess they figured it's not worth it.
