Pros: Good price. Kingston.
Cons: Does not work with Asus P7F-E motherboard. Did not POST with 1/2/3/4 DIMMs @ 800Mhz/1066/1333.
Overall Review: KVR1066D3Q8R7SK2/16G works with the P7F-E. However, it defies Asus' tech manual; They're quad ranked, yet they work @ 1066Mhz and 2 DIMMs per channel (2 channels, 32GB).
Who designed this?
Pros: Good quality printing. Does not bend sheets.
Cons: The manual front feeder is only 1 PAGE AT A TIME! You must first send the job to the printer (to manual feed), then insert one page.
Overall Review: Lucky for me, this printer is being used at someone's home instead of our office. At the office, we use the front feed for used paper and this would have been returned.
Not bad
Pros: Power switch! Speeds as expected.
Cons: Short 3' USB cord. It should be 4'. Does not seem to work with the Etron SY-PEX20136 card. Running ArchLinux. The Etron card works with everything but this device.
the bad side...
Pros: As I said in my previous review.
Cons: The Anti-Glare matte finish on the screen is GRAINY. It hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. If I look at the white space for a few seconds, I feel like I am looking at a 2-D illusion. Depending on the angle, I often see red/blue/green outline on some text. I'll gladly void the warranty if I am able to remove the anti-glare. Otherwise, if I am unable to get used to looking at this anti-glare failure I will stop using this monitor!!!
Overall Review: My glasses were so scratched I blamed them, hence my perfect review (previous).
linux
Pros: Works no problem in linux. Arch x86_64
Cons: See Other thoughts
Overall Review: Maxes out at about 80MB/s. When transfering files between two USB3 devices on the same card, one HDD reads at about 40MB/sec, the othre write at about 40MB/sec. I thought USB3 ports didn't share the bandwidth? Not sure exactly where the bottleneck is and how to fix it. Running Q9450 on Intel ICH10 and I'm 99% the NICs on this board are PCI-E. I ordered a PCI-E card so it will be fun to compare.
Good
Pros: Keboard keys are sturdy. Good size. HDMI + VGA. LED backlight. Wireless is signal is good.
Cons: The touchpad and buttons are not 100%. I have to tap hard or tap in a different location on the touchpad sometimes. This usually happens when there is an anomoly on the touchpad, but that is not the case. The touchpad buttons need to be pressed in the middle or it may not register. I do beleive it is a defect more than a design flaw so you may not experience this. The up/down arrow keys are very small. It slows me down when working in a terminal!
Overall Review: Once I installed linux on this thing, I booted to an error reporting the hard drive was not detected. UEFI was off! Fortunately the next morning it booted normally. However, every few months I will get that error message at boot. Everytime I've been able to boot normally by just restarting.
