WD Red 3TB Drives

Pros: These drives seem to work well when not DOA. Slightly cheaper than the WD Black drives I normally use.
Cons: First two I ordered came in air pillow packs on each drive and air pillows in the box, best packing I've ever seen for hard drives. The second two (received yesterday) were the in the worst packed box I have ever received from NewEgg, bad enough that I took pictures . When I picked up the box, the drives shifted to one side and I nearly dropped it. When opened, the drives were just in ESD wrap and bouncing around inside an oversized box. The pillow wrap only had two intact cells out of eight and was far, far insufficient for the box. I suspect this was a prime factor in one of the drives being DOA and I'm afraid the other will fail shortly. One drive booted and checked ok, the other booted with a spin noise and clicks and failed upon the second boot. BIOS doesn't even see that drive now. Failed drive is being sent back under RMA and it still ticks me off that I have to pay for shipping a defective drive back.
Overall Review: NewEgg really needs to improve and get consistant with their packing methods.
Not the best deal

Pros: When working, these units put out a great, steady heat at a low cost.
Cons: I've owned 3 of these heaters. Loved the first one so much, I bought two more the next season. Unfortunately these seem to have a lifespan of about a season. The first one failed after about a year just after receiving the next two. The second one caught fire a few months later, luckily as I was watching TV nearby. And the third failed the same day as the one that caught fire. No more of these for me!
Overall Review: Several people have reported these heaters catching fire so be extremely careful and don't leave them unattended.
