NT-H1 Thermal Compound

Noctua NT-H1 3.5g, Pro-Grade Thermal Compound Paste (3.5g)
Noctua NT-H1 3.5g, Pro-Grade Thermal Compound Paste (3.5g)

Pros: **Best rated thermal compound from the Toms Hardware aside from the ones that you had to put into the microwave to heat so they would spread properly or were not psyco-overclocker that even experienced builders would stay away from. - I am running an intel I5-4670K chip (3.4 GHz) overclocked to 4.0 GHz with a Cool Master Seidon 120 closed loop water cooler and even running Orthos stress tests while also accidentally running a game, the highest I could heat any of my 4 cores is 49 degrees Celsius. Most of that is the water cooler, but the cooler could not do its job if the heat were not transferred so well through this thermal compound. - You don't need quite as much as people say. If you put that much on you'll almost assuredly end up with thermal compound running over the sides of your chip. I put about 2/3 of what was called for and spread it around with my credit card (after cleaning it of course), and about 1/2 of it was still on the card when the CPU was 100% covered. - When you put your heat sync onto your CPU, barely tighten the threads and move the heat sync around a little...twist, turn, etc., and this will smooth out the thermal paste. Afterwards run your PC and get it to higher operating temperatures, but allow the shut down and cool down to allow for a better burn in period for the thermal compound. - This spread incredibly easy...small dot in the center and spread from side to side and top to bottom easily with my credit card. - Heat is probably the thing that degradates your CPU most during normal use, so keeping temperatures down should extend the life of your components.

Cons: My last heat sync/CPU were lapped (sanded down perfectly flat) so the heat transfer would be perfect. After putting this new PC build together I figured I'd run it a while without voiding the warranty on the CPU and Heat Sync, and the temps have reached 50 degrees celcius on one core and 49 or 48 on the rest, so why would I void my warranties by lapping...? Although to be honest, overclocking may have already voided the CPU warranty, but most parts that work the first week, they will work for years.

Overall Review: If it came in smaller sizes, I didn't see it. There is enough in the tube to do a lot of CPU's.

Telex Electro-Voice EV Sonic XS 4.1 5-Piece Powered Hardcore Multimedia Speaker System

Telex Electro-Voice EV Sonic XS 4.1 5-Piece Powered Hardcore Multimedia Speaker System-A Grade Refurbished
Telex Electro-Voice EV Sonic XS 4.1 5-Piece Powered Hardcore Multimedia Speaker System-A Grade Refurbished

Pros: - Price... - Price... - Price... - Clear sound - no hiss that a few people have noted. - Excellent volume! - Excellent Bass! - Look 100% brand new - no flaws from being refurbished that I could see on my speakers. I use this for my home theater PC system. My wife isn't the biggest fan of surround sound so I have the speakers on both sides of my fireplace under the TV. When we move these will be with my PC and we'll have a proper 7.1 surround sound, but this is excellent for the time being.

Cons: This is built for a PC 4.1 surround sound so this con is very minor. A couple of the cords for my use are a little short, but if you need more length you can order or swing by Radio Shack and get some 3.5mm male to female cables to give you some additional length.

Overall Review: This is funny...and sort of related. My wife's birthday was on the 24th and one of the things I got her was an Oontz bluetooth speaker that is about 6 watts and ~2x5 inches. She loved it! These speakers showed up the next day, and my wife threatened to post on Facebook a picture of the speaker I bought her for her birthday next to the speakers I bought for myself. I felt like a deer in the headlights for a moment and then I realized...It's OK. I'll just post that I only paid $39 for the Oontz speaker, the exact same that I paid for these 125w 4.1 speakers after rebate. :0) Wow, can't get over the price of these things. Now I'm wishing I'd bought a couple more pair for Christmas presents to my friends with man caves.

EVGA NVidia GTX 760

Pros: - Buy EVGA - their warranty makes them better than ANY other, and have for years. - I was talking to an NVidia tech support rep before making my purchase and he confirmed (not that I doubted) that all the cards are pretty much identical as far as the NVida hardware - they just add their own little tweaks and overclocking to give them different labels. He thought I'd already bought the card and said, "I'd have gone with the EVGA card myself." Coming from an NVidia tech, that's a pretty good recommendation. - Best card I could find that did not kill my budget - Should be enough power in the GPU to keep me gaming (and working now and then) for many years. - For the games I currently play I could have easily gotten by with a 550 or 650 TI boost or something like that, but again, I don't want to have to buy another card for as long as possible. - I play World of Warplanes, Sniper 2, Assassins Creed etc., all on maximum settings. WoWP runs at 1600x900x32 on max settings and I'm still hitting FPS from 100-160...considering my monitor refreshes 60 times a second, the rest is overkill. - Comes with overcloking software...not that I needed to OC the GPU yet. Maybe in a year or two I might need to, but for the time being, this is still overkill.

Cons: Newegg had a little issue getting the card shipped, but after I contacted them it was straightened out with haste. WTG Newegg! Granted, this was around New Years and their inventory period, so I had to give them a little grace.

Cooler Master Seidon 12M

Cooler Master Seidon 120M - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan
Cooler Master Seidon 120M - All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 120mm Radiator and Fan

Pros: - I wish I could rate this with more than 5 stars...I've been working with PC's since the early 1980's and I've never been more impressed with a cooler. My old (very old) Tuniq Tower 120 was awesome, but even it couldn't keep up with this beast!!! - I've been running my new build for about 8 days now and I've run stress tests on the CPU and RAM, and it stayed very cool. - I overclocked my CPU from 3.4 GHz to 4.1 GHz and ran the stress tests again. Those test did not get my CPU over 49 degrees celcius, and since then my PC has had 1 single core reach 50, but the rest have maxed out (at least over the past few days) at Core 0: 47C, Core 1: 50C, Core 2: 49C, Core 3: 45C. - I matched this with the Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound which was pretty much the highest rated compound on the Tom's Hardware reviews that did not need microwave a cup of hot water and heat the thermal paste to be able to spread it properly, or wasn't psyco-overclocker crazy difficult to apply for even professional builders. - I bought the 120M, but I did have a spare fan that was already on the back of my case that I put on the back of the Seidon cooler, but I don't need it. - As I'm sitting here writing this review, my cores are averaging 30C, bouncing between 28C and 31C on the cores. - OH...I almost forgot....The fans are QUIET!!! Aside from my PSU fan, I can't hear any of the fans. If I could box my PSU on the other side of the wall I'd never know my computer was on except for the lights. - Installation was simple once I threw away the instructions.

Cons: The threads on the long black screws that come with the kit need to be just a hair longer. So when you mount this to your case, put the Seidon fan against the back of your case and any spare fan you add on the inside. Either my case is a touch thicker than they allowed for or the previous 120M fan I owned was slightly thicker than they allowed for.

Overall Review: Again, I wish I could rate this higher than 5 stars. I follow technology fairly close and I'm seldom this surprised.

Anti-Static wrist strap

Rosewill Anti-Static Wrist Strap ESD Anti Shock Wristband Bracelet (Packaging May Vary) - RTK-002
Rosewill Anti-Static Wrist Strap ESD Anti Shock Wristband Bracelet (Packaging May Vary) - RTK-002

Pros: - My PC did not fry from static - Cord it long enough for all the tasks I was doing while building my new PC. - velcro wrist strap is easy to use, connect/disconnect. - alligator clip holds well - I never pulled it off of my case.

Cons: None that I can think of.
