Quality Fan, Possibly Loud

Pros: Extremely high quality fan all-around! Technologically advanced barometric ball bearing fan. Triangular-tipped and removable blades. Three-piece metal and plastic frame, with honeycomb ventilation. Looks incredible! Fantastic bonuses also provided: Four silicone 'silent' fan screws, and typical metal fan screws. Four rubber washers (with sticky back). 4-pin to 3-pin power adapter. 3-pin to Molex power adapter.
Cons: Possibly very loud (when on high, or not used with 4-pin PWM connection, much louder than deceitful 30 dBA rating). Possibly expensive (without sale or rebate).
Overall Review: I was in a bit of a panic when I plugged this in via Molex cable (using the provided 3-pin and Molex adapters). The Excalibur will be ridiculously loud (50+ dBA?) if you don't have a 4-pin PWM motherboard fan connector, or your case is warm, or it decides to run on high for whatever reason. I now have it plugged in properly (4-pin PWM) and it's running rather silently (at 1200 RPM).
Logitech Z623 Speaker System - Poor Quality, Short Life

Pros: Sounds great for a while. Easy to install and fairly compact (especially compared to proper audio receiver and speakers).
Cons: Has known serious issues, not corrected after many years, including power button switch. Unlikely to last more than a few years.
Overall Review: The Logitech Z623 speaker system has been around for a while, and has at least a few known issues that remain serious problems. One is the power button: After a while, the electrical connection behind the power switch may start to fail. This has been reported in many reviews. Pressing or touching the power button results in loud "crackles and pops" emitting from the speakers. The power connection is unstable, rapidly turning on and off, due to the faulty switch under the button. It is very difficult (and eventually impossible) to simply turn the power on at this point. This renders the entire system inoperable unless replaced or properly serviced. Service requires taking apart the speaker (likely to cause at least cosmetic damage due to design) and replacing the power switch or solder to the switch. Note: Logitech does not service or "fix" items with warranty claims, but they may eventually send a replacement. They will literally tell you to throw the faulty item in the garbage, implying it is now a piece of junk unworthy of fixing. Unfortunately, these replacements are usually refurbished units, probably from in-store returns. After the replacement is provided, they will not provide further service or replacements. The price of the Z623 system is tempting, and the sound quality is definitely adequate before the failures set in. But customers should know that due to various issues with the quality of the workmanship, the system is unlikely to last more than a few years. I have purchased a couple over the years, and had a couple replacements provided under warranty. None of mine have remained working for more than 3 years. One was faulty right out of the box. Average lifespan has been around 2 years. This is unacceptable and frankly pathetic for a device of this kind, that are either powered off or not in use 99% of the time. Coincidentally...) The warranty for the Z623 is currently 2 years, but is subject to change. My rating for the Logitech Z623 speaker system: 2 out of 5 eggs. One for each year it will work until its inevitable failure. Avoid. Please do not reward companies for producing poor-quality "throw-away" items at too-good-to-be-true prices. Please do not reward companies for who are unable or unwilling to fix known issues after years of reports and data.
ADATA DashDrive Elite 32GB

Pros: Incredible, high-quality flash drive. Extremely fast USB 3.0 speeds of over 80 MB/s write and 200 MB/s read. Beautiful exterior, sleek black, slim. Seems reliable, owned for over a year with no problems.
Cons: Possible issues with extension mechanism (push in and forward to extend), it seems like it could be broken if not careful.
Overall Review: I am extremely happy with this flash drive. It is ridiculously fast, reliable and beautiful. ADATA has earned a fine reputation with this hardware, and some of their other flash drives.
Patriot LX Pro MicroSD

Pros: Fine quality. Low price. Speeds average 14 MB/s write and 45 MB/s read.
Cons: Speed (esp. write) may be considered slow.
Overall Review: Testing performed with Crystal DiskMark, ATTO, Windows (file transfer), on PC with Kingston MobileLite G3 adapter. Weird: Performed horribly on DiskMark "random 512K" write test, only 1 (one!) MB/s write. Real-world tests seem fine.
Mushkin Ventura Plus 32 GB

Pros: Fast USB 3.0 speeds: Exactly as advertised (40/200 MB/s, see Other Thoughts). Black aluminum body, seemingly durable, smaller than anticipated (6 x 1.5 x 0.5 centimeters). Translucent plastic ends: Fits the end cap, allows red "usage" LED to be visible from any angle. Price: Excellent, under twenty-five dollars. Disk size: 32 Ghirardellis (29 GB formatted). Upgradable firmware. Supports virtually all OS. Claimed features: Built-in wear-leveling and error-correcting code (ECC), and USB power saving modes.
Cons: Warranty on shorter side: 2 years. End cap can easily be lost. Does not come with lanyard (but has loop for one). Possibly too small?
Overall Review: ATTO Disk Benchmark verified advertised speeds: 43 MB/s write & 195 MB/s read. Awesome! Note: Surprisingly, changing file system (from default FAT32) to NTFS drastically reduced speeds (28 write & 37 read). Loving it, and Mushkin. Should work well for add-on Xbox 360 storage.
Samsung SSDs rise above the pack

Pros: Extremely fast: consistent 460/160 or better sequential read/write speeds, and 7.9 WEI score. Pleasant design, dark/brushed metal, and ridiculously small, thin and lightweight--even more so than competitors. Respectable software, with many available optimizations, benchmarks and even firmware updates, over-provisioning and secure erase features. SATA III (6 GB/s) interface. Seemingly durable and reliable, esp. regarding handling/g-forces and heat. Quality/locking SATA cable and 2.5 to 3.5" HDD adapter/mount included. Norton Ghost 15 included (for backup/migration, or resale).
Cons: Small disk capacity (64GB). Screw holes on mount were smaller than the usual HDD mount screws; needed to improvise to fit it in my case's HDD bay (Antec P180). Expensive (price per GB).
Overall Review: Installed into my desktop PC fairly easily (cleanly installed Windows 7, did not migrate using supplied Norton Ghost). Looks nice and feels durable, albeit a bit different than promo pictures (no logo on mount, orange accent differs, etc). Samsung seem to have done everything right, and time will tell if their SSDs continue to rise above the (Sandforce-driven) pack.
