Most Favorable Review

Works great!

MSI Z590-A PRO LGA 1200 Intel Z590 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI Z590-A PRO LGA 1200 Intel Z590 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Everything I wanted and needed. Running smooth with a 11400. Used for media server/home surveillance. Puts my gaming rig to shame. This review is for the MSI Review Rebate Program.

Overall Review: Recommended.

Most Critical Review

Time is money.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 950W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire Intel Haswell Ready Power Supply
PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 950W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire Intel Haswell Ready Power Supply

Pros: Quiet. Inexpensive. Great reviews. Looked cool (matched my black and blue color scheme). ...great return policy.

Cons: Unfortunately, it died after a week. Cheap?

Overall Review: Life is too short for second chances in business. Switched to Corsair; it has not disappointed. No hard feelings with PCPC; just no second chances. The was the first and only NEW PSU to ever X_X out on me...so this was probably an isolated incidence. If I saw a killer deal on one, I'd probably chance it again.

Great Tower

IN WIN Dragon Rider Black 1.0 - 0.8mm SECC Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
IN WIN Dragon Rider Black 1.0 - 0.8mm SECC Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Beautiful but masculine- sweet lines. Many fans- my mouse hand gets cold next to it on my desk from the airflow. The lights are all pretty sweet. Many bays - far more than I need. Matches my board and RAM -black/blue schema. Sturdy and stable- plus it has swing feet for added stability.

Cons: Friends drool on it. I would take a quarter of an egg--for the mod below.

Overall Review: With a CM Hyper 212, I couldn't fully latch the side without the fan hitting the copper pipe's end. This contradicted all reviews I looked up stating it has plenty of space for such equipment... Maybe it had something to do with the ASUS P8Z68-V/Gen 3? I dunno. I flattened the grate where the big fan mounts (used cardboard to protect the finish and a tack hammer on a flat surface) and it fits together perfectly. No one can tell it had to be flattened, and it took all of 5 minutes, so no big deal.

5 eggs

Intel Core i5-2500K - Core i5 2nd Gen Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Intel HD Graphics 3000 Desktop Processor - BX80623I52500K

Pros: Look for an expert's opinion! I built the machine and it is awesome. I shy away from OC because my first attempt cooked the PSU. Since swapping brands, it runs awesomely. The chip OCd great.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I'm afraid to OC again...I can't afford to keep swapping PSUs. Fortunately, I doubt I would notice a difference because this machine is 98% gaming only. I rarely multitask. All games run at max settings. No hiccups.

Love this board.

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: Good layout. My first ASUS board. I see what all the rave is about. I like all the onboard debug lights and gadgets. The MB Utilities are pretty sweet, too.

Cons: The onboard BT seems glitchy, but it could just be user error. This disappoints me because I purposefully bought BT kb/mouse combo (Logitech) and was hoping to have immediate control with my Galaxy S2. That was just for kicks and not imperative to the usefulness of the machine. The BT dongle works seamlessly. Updating bios and utilities can be a little tedious and confusing through ASUS' website, but it all worked.

Great memory

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH

Pros: Fast. Easy. Inexpensive. No problems in BIOS or windows. Good for OC.

Cons: I couldn't afford more.

Overall Review: It actually posted at 15% faster speeds on initial installation using default settings. A BIOS update "corrected" this and it posts as rated. (The system seems to run more smoothly now, but that probably doesn't have anything to do with the RAM.)
