Pros: The Corsair Vengeance 2000 Wireless 7.1 Gaming headset has been a good change of pace from my usual wired headset. These are padded and comfortable(a little warm) with good adjustment for size normal heads. Crisp voices, hard hitting bass, solid battery life, and plenty of range if you happen to walk away for a minute. I've been playing Ghost Recon Online for the better part of 1.5 months, and felt that this headset worked extremely well with sound and VOIP functions of this game. The ability to turn off the mic by putting it in an up position is quite smart. I can hear my squad and action clearly with the simulated 7.1 sound. If I want to adjust the volume a bit, just roll the sound bar, too easy. I only have to charge it once a week normally, unless I pull a long gaming session over the weekend. The LED indicator for power are very smart as well. Orange - charging, Green - charged, and Red - time to charge, wrapped up in a simple USB port and cable. Everything about this headset is well thought out. It's not perfect, but very very good.
Cons: 1. I wish it could be used with a sound card, then the 7.1 sound feature would be viable.
2. The ear pads are sweet, but they get hot after about 15 - 30 minutes. Good way to measure when to take a little break.
3. Expensive to be honest. I have a Microsoft headset that is almost as good, but wired. They're $80 cheaper too. I know, I know, paying for features and higher quality is the aim for these.
Overall Review: The fit and finish is pretty nice, but it has to be for the coin spent. I've really enjoyed not having to fight my 1 year old for the cable.
Pros: This is a very slim and trim laptop hard drive. 320GB, 7200RPM and 16MB cache are good specs for any OS drive. I installed it on my 2 year old netbook, and installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview 32 bit. So far it has been fast and very quiet. Which is exactly what this kind of drive is intended for. I have no reservations about recommending this drive for an upgrade for space and increased speed.
Overall Review: I would like to see this drive in a 500GB and 750GB model. I was on the hunt for one about 2 weeks ago for an Toshiba ultrabook configuration I needed for work. I'll definitely keep this model line in mind for any future upgrades unless the config requires an SSD.
Newegg packaged this item well. Bubble wrap and inflated mini bags. Egg-xcellent.
Pros: Does exactly what it should and quite well.
Pros: Absolutely solid. Runs at the correct speed under XMP and can also be tweaked for better timings. Will also run solid @ DDR3 1800+ as well. I'm sure they can go higher, it's just a matter of what your board can handle. Love the heat spreaders. They actually cover the green PCB giving them a more high end look.
Overall Review: Wintec makes a solid product. They have that Rosewill feel to me. Good products at a reasonable price. I think a second kit would be overkill, but can't resist 24GB of ram. No more page file.....
Pros: It's slightly better than stock, and that's ok with me.
Overall Review: Rosewill products always work for me. They make quality stuff.
Pros: I'm satisfied with what this board brings to the table. BIOS is fairly simple, OC is decent, DDR3 with 775, and it doesn't have a goofy color scheme.
Overall Review: I have it in my folding rig dedicated to my 2 yr. old who is fighting cancer as I type this. Daddy loves you.
Q8400 @ 2.8Ghz
4GB DDR3 1333
Dell GTX 260 1792MB (avg. 7000+ ppd)
2 x 80GB Raptors(Dual boot Win7 x64 & Ubuntu 10.10)
CM Silent Pro 700w \ NZXT M59
Pros: Plays my blu-rays no problem. Got the software suite with it, seems cool. I went with Samsung because they rarely disappoint. Just works.
Pros: Got 12GB @ $34.99 per 4GB a few days ago with the early morning Shell Shocker. It's nice to look at and the temp sensors actually work perfectly. Loves XMP and that's all she wrote. Kudos for these things only. See cons......
Cons: BSOD bandit #1. It's been a long time since I've seen this many blue screens in one evening. I must have been kidding myself thinking that it would do something "different" for me, especially after reading previous reviews. No 1T, don't even think about it. Tighter timings, the former answer.
Overall Review: I took a chance on this due to the price and I'm satisfied with the purchase overall. At least I can say that all 12GB worked
Pros: Two bluray movies for $12 is a no brainer. The One is worth the money alone, but Kung Fu Hustle is an added bonus of comedy and the obvious.
Overall Review: Keep it up Newegg
Pros: This is an outstanding product from Kingston. This particular kind of HyperX has been quietly flying under the radar. I came across them on a Youtube video by a competing online retailer. They were able to put up some impressive numbers and when I saw them on sale, it was a no brainer. I have them at DDR3-1600, 9-9-9-24-1T. I was able to run them at tighter timings like 7-8-7-24-1T and 8-8-8-24-1T, but my system became unstable. They are meant to clock high from what I noticed online. I've seen these at DDR3-2200 speed with the same CL 9 timings above. Most impressive.
Cons: None. I got 6 separate sticks and not one was bad. All good after 10 runs of Memtest. That is quality control on Kingston's part.
Overall Review: I usually buy from my favorites, OCZ and Corsair, but I know that this company has the goods, it's just a matter of price. Well, these just happen to go on sale for cheap if you buy 2+. They were $19.99 per 2GB. I got 12GB worth and am very pleased.
Pros: This is the best value in gaming right now. Yeah, yeah, the GTX 5XX series is out, but all that does is make the GTX 400 series priced just right. Now you're getting DX11 power in an affordable price range. PNY makes a competitive product with a lifetime warranty.
Cons: Don't see how there could be one.
Overall Review: PNY took up XFX and BFG's lifetime warranty biz for all of us that want the GTX series and want something other than EVGA or Sparkle. And tell people to just hush about the heat. I have it overclocked to GTX 570 clocks and it doesn't get over 65C while gaming. I think some people don't have enough ventilation to keep this thing cool. I say if you can get one for right around $200 (with\without rebate), do it, you'll be set for another 1+ yrs. And don't forget that this card came out this year, so it's not really "old" tech. Happy gaming.
Pros: Got it for $30 and I'm happy with it. I can't be excited about it other than the price. It's just a PSU that has blue LED fans. Rosewill makes good stuff.
Overall Review: Part of a build for a family member.
Pros: It does exactly what it needs to. No issues, hiccups with Windows 7 or with any other hardware. Cheap and stable.
Overall Review: Black Friday Deal. Part of a build for a family member.
Pros: HDMI cable for $3 shipped. Enough said.
Cons: Really? None. Should be Con-grats for just being Newegg.
Pros: Great card, I have 2 actually. Everything I expected them to be. Just don't expect them to honor your rebate.
Cons: Another customer burned by MSI's "rebate". They rejected my rebate and told me that the UPC cut from their box is a copy. Sounds like someone just doesn't want to pay out. I know, I know. I'm certainly not the first and won't be the last. Guess what, ef them and their fraudulent ways. Next build will definitely have no MSI anything. I'm washing my hands of this company.
Overall Review: Newegg is the best hands down, but they should stop this up front. Stop allowing companies to offer rebates if they can't/won't honor them.
Pros: They do the job that was intended.....cut things. What things you ask? Ingredients for my dinner.
Cons: Only if wife wasn't happy, so they dodged the bullet.
Overall Review: Wife hasn't made it through the entire set yet, but she is very happy.
Pros: Easy to setup and plenty of configuration options. Got it for a great price too.
Cons: Some options are not available to configure. Ex. Firewall..... Was told by their tech support that it's configured and enabled by default. But with what settings?? Hope they solve this with a firmware update.
Overall Review: Still have a TEW-633GR, so it's not much of an upgrade, but the former is getting long in the tooth, so this was good for me.
Pros: This is an excellent single GPU. The overclock is good enough and the performance is better than expected for a mid range card. I know it's just a rehashed 9800GTX/+. Been there done that one too. Just not in a 1GB version. I happened to get two for SLI and I haven't run across any games that I can't play with the highest resolution. MSI has a good thing going with the TwinFrozr tech and they are only getting better with the TwinFrozr II. Made of WIN!
Cons: Not actually a con, just a warning for anyone who wants to run SLI or more with this card. There are at least three 1GB TwinFrozr versions of this GPU. The standard, OC and an OC "Green" edition. No explanation needed for the standard. The OC version is 3-way SLI capable with a vertical 6pin plug. The Green OC version is just SLI with a horizontal 6pin plug. The OC and green OC version are pretty much a wash when trying to SLI them. The driver takes a you know what after every restart. I had to find this out the hard way. Long story short, get 2 of a kind and you won't have any SLI issues. I had to send the Green version back to another online retailer, and order a second from here to get the right version. Now everything works as it should.
Overall Review: Can't forget the good stuff. Here are some specs(time for a new case, not enough airflow ---> HAF 932 Black maybe?):
Antec P182 Gunmetal w/ Custom Side Panel Window Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700W
Intel Core i7 920 D0 @ 3.38
Corsair Cooling H50 CPU Cooler
MSI X58 Platinum SLI
OCZ Reaper 6GB DDR3-1800 & XTC Cooler Rev2 @ 7-7-7-16
2 x 160GB VelociRaptors(OS)-RAID0 / 2TB Storage
Samsung 22X SATA DVD Burner
2 x MSI N250GTS TwinFrozr 1GB OC SLI
Hanns·G 24" 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor
Logitech Wireless Slim Desktop S510
Windows 7 Professional x64
Pros: It's faster than I thought. I have two velociraptors in RAID0 and I'm still impressed. Only paid $49.99 for it, so it was definitely an egg-cellent deal.
Overall Review: I was fortunate enough to get one that works. WD Caviar Black for performance at a reasonable price.
Pros: Nice size and weight. Nice motherboard cut-out and enough cable management to ummm..... well...... manage. All black guts. I like the reverse HDD install action, it's what I would do in a case without tremendous space for cable management. No opening at the top above CPU. I like to run the CPU power cable behind the MB tray. It's a personal preference. Can't have everything on a budget. Other than that, BUY IT.
Cons: Not really.
Overall Review: I buy Rosewill products and they rarely let me down if ever. Another good product.
**Side note - NZXT windowed side panel for the M59 & Lexa S fit on this case.**
Pros: Works. Rosewill makes good stuff.
Cons: No problems
Pros: It plays .AVI with sound through HDMI. Thumbs up.
Cons: Video playback of media is so so.
Overall Review: It was cheap.
Pros: You get what you pay for. It's a good 40" 1080P LCD for the price, no doubt. Has all of the standard hook ups and looks pretty nice overall.
Cons: Stupid giant red "SCEPTRE" when you turn it on and remote is trash. But I also could have bought a Sony or Samsung for more, but hey, I'm cheap. Enough said.
Overall Review: This replaced a 27" inch tube TV, so it's definitely an upgrade.
Pros: Good fan. Quiet enough.
Pros: It's a RAM cooler. Fits over my Reaper nicely, cools well and the blue LEDs are sweet. Can't say too much more.
Overall Review: Another good product from OCZ. I have pics of it installed on EggXpert.
