Great video card for the price
Pros: This card, for this price, cant be any better. I didnt buy this thing to play top end games, I got it for the middle games and video playback via DVD and sites like Hulu.com. Installation was a snap, and it draws its power from the PCI-e bus, rather than a seperate connecter from the Power Supply. Works in Hybrid mode with my motherboard.
Cons: None, great little card
Overall Review: Those of you complaining about it not getting you top numbers in top games, just stop. If you want a card for those things, spend more than $35 and stop being so cheap. This thing will play anything out there, but for newer stuff, you need newer tech. Go up your budget to 75+ and stop complaining about low budget cards.
Do not expect to get the Dirt 3 game
Pros: The card is great
Cons: False advertising by Newegg :(
Overall Review: The promo codes on the cards sent out with the purchase of ATI video cards were hacked, and are no longer valid. The company responsible for them is not responding to email requests. Do not factor the game into your decision to purchase.
Absolutely love this little case!
Pros: I had no problem fitting everything I wanted into the case, and the temps are excellent. Build: - Ryzen 7600X - 64gb RAM - Gigabyte B650I Motherboard - 2tb + 4tb m.2 drives - EVGA 3090 Ti - Fractal Design Lumen S28 280mm AIO At idle, the CPU is registering 33c and the GPU is showing 38c with 0% fans. Under full load, CPU got up to about 74c, and GPU got to 75c.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Overall Review: If you need help with the case, or are curious about expandability, hit up Youtube and search for the video on the "Christopher Flannigan" channel. He does a COMPLETE tear down and build of the case, showing every little aspect of its capabilities.
Good board, outdated bios that resulted in random reboots
Pros: Board has all the features you need for a respectable price. Easy to build with.
Cons: The bios on the board is almost a year old. After the build was done, the system would randomly reboot while gaming. No warning, just power down and back up. After confirming that it wasn't a software issue, checked the bios and noticed it was 4 revisions behind. Did an update and the problem was resolved.
Overall Review: If you are buying this, make sure you plan ahead and get the latest bios update. Otherwise, the board is a good choice. Note: Was paired with a 5600X. No bios update needed for 5000 series, but the random reboots are undesirable obviously.
Works perfectly with Cox
Pros: Compact, quality design, compact, nice remote, compact, easy install. Also, Compact.
Cons: Not related to the product, but I really wish DisplayPort was HDCP compliant.
Overall Review: Make sure you follow the instructions. In WMC, I was missing the Digital TV Compatibility checker, and had to obtain it before installation would work properly, which is the fault of Windows, not Hauppage. Pro Tip: Turn off the windows firewall before you try to install this. Once Windows validates your setup, go through the install and wait til you get to the end. WMC will give you a number to call for your local cable provider to get to people who actually know what they are doing. Do not bother calling your local support line. You need to call them to setup your cable card though :)
Works as expected
Pros: Easy install, immediately detected
Cons: None
Overall Review: No OC'd needed. CPU-Z shows the chips running at 802.4 MHz (dual channel for 1604.8). It also shows however that it is defaulting to 11-11-11-28, so that will need to be manually changed. Highly recommended. System: i5 2500k Gigabyte P67 series MB 120gb Corsair Force GT SSD
