solid player

PENGO Blue 1GB MP3 Player 031018 BLUE
PENGO Blue 1GB MP3 Player 031018 BLUE

Pros: the player has a thin rubber coating which might help its durability, or at least it makes it look cool. the arm band works. the radio works fairly well, you can't get every station, at least indoors. you can record the radio. the voice recorder works well, decent enough sound quality. the head phones are pretty good quality. it doubles as a flash drive. the screen is easy to read. it has built in eq settings.

Cons: I always use folders with my mp3s. to start at the first song in a folder, you have to select the folder, press and hold the play button until the unit turns off, and then turn it back on. but I mean, that takes all of like 5 seconds, so it's not too bad. the sound quality of the radio recordings aren't as good as the radio sounds, but it still sounds good enough. you can't model your own eq.

Overall Review: to get back to the main menu, you select exit and push and hold the little joystick.

garbage

ZEROtherm GX700 Ceramic VGA Cooler
ZEROtherm GX700 Ceramic VGA Cooler

Pros: it looks cool, it's quiet, has ram coolers, fits fine

Cons: I have it on an 8600GTS and it's not any better than the stock cooling, if anything it's worse

Overall Review: to be fair, it doesn't say it's for use with the 8000 series cards

great cooling

ASUS Lion Square 92mm Vapo Bearing CPU Cooler
ASUS Lion Square 92mm Vapo Bearing CPU Cooler

Pros: First off, this thing is epic. It's huge and looks awesome. I put this on an AMD X2 6000+ @ 3.24Ghz and under max load it gets up to 46c. Normal usage, it's around 37/38c. So it definitely keeps my processor cool. It's not any louder than any of my case fans. If you have an AMD based board, it's a pretty simple install. You just pop off the old heatsink, and then latch this one on, and you're done.

Cons: this thing is pretty big, so you might find yourself a little lacking in space when you're trying to mount it. It took me a couple of tries to get it latched, but no big deal.

Overall Review: This thing looks awesome in my case

great monitor

Gateway HD2201 22" WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI LCD Monitor
Gateway HD2201 22" WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI LCD Monitor

Pros: this monitor is gorgeous. the colors are great. it has that nice glossy covering on the monitor. no dead pixels. it has a pretty cool menu system. the buttons are back lit, and only the buttons that have an option to select are lit up. so like, you touch the main one, then like 4 other buttons appear with options next to them. I don't know if I explained it well, but trust me, it's pretty cool.

Cons: for this much money I would've liked for it to have included a DVI and HDMI cable, but oh whelp, it's still a great monitor.

Overall Review: I used to have a 19" CRT way back, but that broke, so I've been using some old 17" monitors that my parents had laying around. one being like a 10+ year old Dell monitor who's picture had become pretty bad (but it could do 1600x1200, I was impressed), another being an eMachine monitor that only does 1280x1024, and the last being some cisnet lcd monitor that maxed out at 1280x1024 as well. I can't even express in words how amazing it was to go from those to this monitor.

works like it should

FireWire 1394a + USB 2.0 Combo Internal Front Bay Connector Module
FireWire 1394a + USB 2.0 Combo Internal Front Bay Connector Module

Pros: it does what it's supposed to. I have a black case, it looks good in my case.

Cons: you need the layout of your usb and firewire headers on your motherboard, so you can plug in all the individual cables into the motherboard. it didn't really bother me though.

works great

PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card VCG98GX2XPB-OC
PNY GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card VCG98GX2XPB-OC

Pros: it's powerful. installed the card, installed the drivers, restarted the computer, and the card worked perfectly.

Cons: nothing that's specific to PNY's card. This thing is ginormous (but so are all of the 9800GX2's). I think I have like 1cm of room left. I had to put it in diagonally first and then rotate it around to get it in the slot. Make sure to check the dimensions on the card and make sure it'll fit in your case. Also you have to choose between sli and dual monitor display which is kind of lame. but again, that goes for all 9800 GX2's.

Overall Review: it's a powerful card and cheaper than the 280GTX. Also, the PNY card is cheaper than the other company's card, but just as good. so you should buy it.
