ORICO 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub, Ultra-Slim Data USB Hub with 0.5ft Extended Cable for Windows,XP, Vista ,Windows, Linux and Mac Desktop or Laptop -Black

Pros: - mini USB power (like phone) - works with 4 HD (and external power supply onto the USB hub) - no special driver needed on win7

Cons: - none as of now

Overall Review: I tried another brand to use 3 external harddisk, while using external power supply and had multiple issues. THIS ONE works perfectly with 4 Western Digital Passport drives.

Not good with HD

Wavlink Aluminum 3 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, USB to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter 10/100/1000 RJ45 Converter 3 ports Mini docking station - for Mac, PC, USB Flash Drives
Wavlink Aluminum 3 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, USB to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter 10/100/1000 RJ45 Converter 3 ports Mini docking station - for Mac, PC, USB Flash Drives

Pros: nice

Cons: falls back to USB2 often with WD hard disk.

Overall Review: I recognize that it's not "meant" to use with HDs. My experience: plugged-in external 5V supply. Use WD Passport HD only. A few time I had to delete "USB mass storage" in device manager to get the HD to register as USB3. I had to "check disk" because of Wavlink hub. I need a USB3 hub to connect 3 HDs. On my laptop I only have 2x USB3. This is for backup purpose. I managed without additional USB3 hub until now..... WITHOUT having to do "check disk"s nor falling back to USB2. Well. This Wavlink hub is NOT what I need.
