Works just fine

Pros: Got to love nimrods who give bad reviews because the didn't know what they were ordering. Anyway ... This RAM works just fine. I am running VMWare ESXi on a SuperMicro server.
Cons: It does run hot but I think most FB does. The heat spreaders help.
Too Hot

Pros: It's small and doesn't take up much room. Comes with fan out cable. When in the right case, it's a great RAID card.
Cons: It gets VERY HOT and will sound a very loud buzzer to let you know. I am running one in a water cooled case with decent airflow and it still gets too hot. I would pass unless you have very good airflow and nothing else in your chassis that will get hot.
Overall Review: It would be nice if Adaptec did something else to help cool this little monster.
DOA x 2

Pros: None.
Cons: I ordered this board from another site when NewEgg was out of stock and had to RMA it because it was DOA. I bought it's replacement from NewEgg and it was also DOA.
Overall Review: Thanks Intel for putting me 3 days behind on a build. I thought I would be safe going with a product that you put your name on. If you're wondering, we tried 3 power supplies and 8 sticks of RAM. It's YOUR board.
RAID Issues

Pros: Very fast when working, 3.5" a plus for hot-plug trays
Cons: Fails daily in a RAID 0 array on an Adaptec 5405 while other arrays are fine.
Overall Review: This could be the controller (Adaptec) or it could be the drives, I do not know for sure but I do know that the other array on the controller is fine. This leads me to believe that it's the drives which is why I went with 3 eggs. When they are working they are REALLY fast.
Solid Workstation

Pros: Supermicro puts that chassis together and cables the inside nicely. Plenty of room for GFX cards, hard drives, ROMs, etc. It's also very quiet even after I installed the high speed fans from SuperMicro to cool the Adaptec RAID card.
Cons: RAM compatibility. As with all SuperMicro motherboards, ONLY buy RAM off the tested memory list. Not doing so will cause many headaches. I have 24GB installed of which only 16GB is recognized. This is Kingston RAM from their list I just haven't had time to contact their support, which is poor.
Overall Review: These are great platforms to use for high-end workstations as opposed to buying something pre-made from Dell, HP, etc. You have much more freedom to customize and are not locked into proprietary hardware or power limitations. Not to mention, it's less expensive to go this route.
Great Workstation

Pros: Come pre-cabled, nice and neat. I usually build my own rigs but when I can have someone do it for me for no apparent markup I'll take it. SuperMicro makes good stuff.
Cons: HORRIBLE support when you need it, but that should be rare if you're not an idiot.
Overall Review: Using it to run Windows 7 Pro 64, 4-5 VMWare VMs. 16Gb RAM on 2 x 2.26 Xeons
Ok
