Great Card once the ancillary programs were removed

ASRock Phantom Gaming D Radeon RX 570 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card RX570 4G
ASRock Phantom Gaming D Radeon RX 570 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card RX570 4G

Overall Review: The card is now working great, however that was not the case a couple of weeks ago. Almost Every time I would exit the Team Fortress program within a few seconds the video would shut off but I could hear all the fans running. I hit the power switch and it would not shut down which told me windows was not running. There was nothing helpful in the event logs. A My ryzen 7 and Asus mb was unstable six months ago and after all the bios updates it was solid now a new problem. There was no new bios updates so I noticed the as rock cd installed several different programs and I thought one was switching from game mode to desktop and crashing the system so I uninstalled every last program but not the drivers and that did the trick. It’s been several weeks and no problems and it was happening several times a day. I normally don’t write reviews but if this help one person then it’s worth it.

Faulty Factory Fan?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600 - Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane Dual-Core 2.9 GHz Socket AM2 65W Processor - ADO5600DOBOX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600 - Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane Dual-Core 2.9 GHz Socket AM2 65W Processor - ADO5600DOBOX

Pros: Good processor, good price.

Cons: Factory fan would not cut it. The processor would go up to 90 degrees C then the mb would turn off within three minutes. Replaced with TR2 now it runs at 40 degrees C. Could be a defective fan from factory or under designed, can't image they would send out such a poor fan. Anyway $15 and it is all fixed and purring like an Intel....

Overall Review: I even scrapped the factory paste and replaced it with Artic Silver, still no go.

These adapters were critical to get power in the newer SATA only connectors

Better than upgrading XP

DELL Desktop Computer OptiPlex 760 3.00GHz 4 GB 320GB HDD Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit
DELL Desktop Computer OptiPlex 760 3.00GHz 4 GB 320GB HDD Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit

Pros: For those that want to upgrade their XP machine, in general they don't have enough memory nor can they have it added, most times limited to 2GB or less, plus they are single processing processors not dual core which is what you need as a minimum for todays windows. This machine is less expensive than Windows 7 and it comes with a windows 7 installed and a license, how great is that! The machine is slower than what I recommend to my customers, which is a PC Benchmark score of 2000 or more and these computers are dual core and around 900 or half my recommended minimum. But for customers who want to save some money and have a new windows that works on the internet, these are a great solution for surfing the internet and doing email and facebook, beyond that they are pretty slow and you won't be doing any high end gamming or photography editing. If the person wants to upgrade their XP then these computers are going to be faster with more memory and less expensive that the cost of a Windows 7 license for that tired old XP machine. Most are old Vista computers and Vista put more of a load on the pc than Windows 7, so it is a good fit to put windows 7 on these old Vista PCs.

Cons: For the price it's tough to give it cons. They generally put 4 GB or ram but install windows 7 32 bit, don't quite understand why unless the 64 bit uses more resources and they are trying to maximize the performance on these machines. 32 Bit is fine for surfing and email anyway.

Overall Review: I have setup at least 10 of these systems for folks that are simple users of the computer. All have come in working condition and the oldest is now maybe 10 months old and no failures as yet. I assume the hard drive will be the first to go and a 120 GB SSD drive is pretty inexpensive and would make this thing start up and shutdown really fast...
