Be realistic
Pros: This laptop has a lot of features at this price point. You aren't going to find many laptops that offer perks such as HDMI output, Bluetooth, and an Express Card input at this price. Plus it has a 7200 RPM hard drive. Very sleek appearance. Screen looks great. Very versatile laptop. Avoided HP for years, but they have put out a good product here. Called their support, got right through, and in two days had all of the restore discs in my possession. Do the same.
Cons: It's true; the frame does attract a lot of fingerprints. Definitely not a deal-breaker, but if that sort of thing drives you crazy, get a skin or look elsewhere. Not going to complain about the speakers. Nobody buys a laptop expecting great speakers. They are adequate. If you want better sound, plug in some externals.
Overall Review: I find it funny when people dock eggs due to things they knew about the product BEFORE they bought it. It's not like you are getting a random object; you read the specs and bought it! Am I going to dock an egg because this only has 2 GB of memory? NO! I knew that when I bought it! Am I going to dock a couple eggs because this HP isn't a Dell, and it's a laptop, not a desktop? You get the picture.
No problems
Pros: Does its job. No issues at all. Good product, good price.
Cons: None.
Great bang for your buck
Pros: Cheap and reliable. Came with a USB extension cable. Once I was up and running, it did its job without a hitch.
Cons: None. At the price I paid, I am not going to be picky.
Overall Review: I use this to update systems I build, so it isn't on full-time. I downloaded the drivers from the Netgear website and discovered I needed a file from Microsoft to make it work on a fresh XP install (SP1). It was a quick and easy fix.
Very nice
Pros: Generally speaking, the price is right, the brand is known, and the Egg will get it here in time. More specifically, it has all of the connections you will need, is not whisper quiet but is quiet enough, and the wires are neatly wrapped so they won't clog up the inside of your case. It has a solid, well-made feel.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Remember, what you buy is what you will get. Read the specs to make sure it is what you want. It is unfair to dock eggs because the 500 w power supply you bought won't put out 1000 w.
Buy it
Pros: Fast, reliable, stock heat sink and fan are adequate. Shipping was fast and packaging was secure. I use it in a rig set up for basic Internet, Office, and home digital photo/video use and it runs perfectly.
Cons: None, provided you read the specs and know exactly what you are getting. Don't dock an egg because your dual-core is not as fast as your quad-core.
Overall Review: I used this in the Asus M3n78-VM, which is advertised as using AM2/AM2+ but will use AM3 with a BIOS update.
Everything you want in a dirve
Pros: It is fast, decently big, and quiet. Arrived safely packaged and in a timely fashion. Can't go wrong with this one.
Cons: None.
