Pros: 1000 watts of pure quad rail power. Very quiet with dual 120mm and 80mm fan. I am using a socket 939 mobo with dual core, dual hard drives, dual optical drives, dual 7800 gtx gpu, you won't have to use any of the modular cables as everything you need is included with the hardwired power cables. Lot's of room for expansion. If psu is above a certain temp when you shut down your computer its fans will stay on for a couple of minutes to evacuate the hot air within your case. LED indicator on the back of the psu with alarm tone to inform you on the status of the unit. Very sleek looking power supply.
Cons: Length of unit, 9 inches long. I have a full size thermaltake armor and I had to remove the top usb header along with bending back the brackets that the header attaches to get the psu to fit. The unit is heavy at 10lbs.
Overall Review: I do believe that this power supply overloaded my APC UPS. It was only rated for 600 watts at 1000va but I thought I give it a shot. I sinced purchased a cyberpower 1500AVR rated for 900 watts at 1500va. No problems at all. This unit has an LCD read out that shows how many watts is being used. I thought that there would be an immense draw on power everytime I would turn on my computer using the Galaxy. But to my delight, It starts out at 180 watts before idleing at 207 watts. Maximum draw of my computer at full load is 247 watts.
Exceptional Quality at an Exceptional Price!
Comments: This is the third case I've purchased so far (two for other computer builds and this last one for myself) and it has yet to disappoint. What everyone, including newegg, has failed to mention is that there is a side plastic airduct positioned directly over the cpu. The cpu fans is able to suck in fresh air from outside the case. I modified it a bit by attaching an 80mm case fan to the side panel and then attaching the airduct to the 80mm fan (very easy to do). Now I have fresh (filtered) air blowing directly on the cpu fan (Zalman CNPS 7700-Cu) which in turn cools my processor even further. I highly recommend this case.
Comments: Very easy to install along with chaining the power supply to the harddrive to the PSU. I have no problems playing Unreal tornament 2004 on full details as with Battlefield Vietnam. Word of advice is to download the lastest Catalyst 4.5 Driver from ATI's website rather that using the included disk. The driver disk is extremely outdated and may cause problems expecially with direct X installation. Downloaded ATI tool to overclock Radeon card and it works perfectly. I will be looking foward to getting the X800 when I can procure the appropriate funds. Comments: This is an execellent, stable motherboard. Setting a raid drive is a piece of cake with this board. Though you will need a floppy drive because XP installation ask for the included raid floppy disk during initial setup. What is surprising and newegg fails to mention is that the retail box not only includes the additional pci slot dual USB jack but also comes with two SATA connectors for SATA HDD, a floppy drive cable, and a EIDE cable. I have two optical drives (dvd-rom and dvd rewriter) two SATA HDD (raid0 160gig) and a EIDE HDD (120gig). So you have the ability to have up to 6 drives connected to the board. One word for overclockers is to stay away from this board as the bios only allows up to a 4% burn-in. I can only get my P4 2.8c ghz to 2.912ghz, but that is why this board is so stable. So go with a faster processor if your going to buy this board. Documention is very limited so check out the PDF manual of this board on the INTEL website for detail information on all function of this MOBO. Newegg, as always, your the best.
Comments: I chose this case because of a decent full installation review on a website and the free FedEx shipping. Very nice solid case with execellent airflow. Capable of having 2x80mm in the rear and 2x80mm in the front. Very attractive front panel with two stealth covers for two optical drives. Unfortunately, the stealth covers don't always do as there suppose to. The cover on the top drive doesn't always close and the drive cover directly underneath doesn't open or close well causing the drive tray not to open or close properly. A minor inconvience at times. The large blue jewel power button is a site to behold as with the very attractive blue backlit LCD screen above. A temperature diode is connected to the LCD monitor and is use to indicate the internal temperature of the chassis only. Time, harddrive indicator, and fan operation are also displayed and is connected to your motherboard using connectors that are clearly marked. I particularly enjoy the convience of having the two front USB ports located to the right side of the front panel rather than the normal directly in the front location. For me the front audio and firewire jacks were useless for me as they included pass-through jacks rather than motherboard lead connectors. The front panel conviently is removable without the use of any tools. Inside the chassis you have room for 4-5 1/4 inch devices and 7-3 1/2 inch devices including one external drive. Motherboard tray is removable by taking out some screws. Both side covers and top panel are removable, though, you will need a screwdrive as this case is not of your tooless variety. Removable top panel give that extra convience for those who want to add a blow hole. All-in-all this is an execellent case that for me came in perfect condition and as always newegg's service is top notch.
