Absolute Steal...

ASUS 27" LCD Monitor 2ms(GTG) D-Sub, HDMI MT276HE
ASUS 27" LCD Monitor 2ms(GTG) D-Sub, HDMI MT276HE

Pros: It's 27"...I replaced my 22" Samsung 226BW with this bad boy and I couldn't be happier. Image quality is great, zero ghosting (this was not the case with the 226BW which was also 2ms), built-in speakers, which are better than I expected, and best of all I got it during the Shell Shocker Sale for $239...how could I go wrong? Also it has two HDMI inputs...I'm using one for the PC and the other is connected to a FIOS HD TV tuner...image quality on both is great!

Cons: Can't swivel it left to right...but this isn't even an issue for me...

Overall Review: Always check the Shell Shocker!

Update: Missing Part

ZALMAN CNPS10X FLEX CPU Cooler
ZALMAN CNPS10X FLEX CPU Cooler

Pros: Solid construction, great performance and bought it during a Shell Shocker sale!

Cons: Missing part (AMD sockets 754/939/940 clip)

Overall Review: For whatever reason Zalman does not include the clip that makes this heatsink compatible with AMD sockets 754/939/940, although they clearly state that it is compatible and their website even shows the clip as an included component. It took me almost a month to get Zalman RMA to ship me the missing clip. A week after I contacted them they shipped me an AMD clip but unfortunately it was for sockets AM3/AM2+/AM2. I had to email them detailed pictures, and links to their website showing the clip. They seemed to be confused as to what AMD sockets 754/939/940 clip looked like. But at the end of the day I got the part I needed and am happy with the product's quality and performance. I'm giving the this product 5 eggs and 1 to Zalman for dropping the ball and not including the components they show and claim compatibility with.

Missing Part

ZALMAN CNPS10X FLEX CPU Cooler
ZALMAN CNPS10X FLEX CPU Cooler

Pros: Solid construction and promising specs.

Cons: Missing part (socket 939 clip).

Overall Review: I bought this to use on an older socket 939 system that I'm converting into a HTPC. Unfortunately the AMD socket 939 clip was missing from the package. The compatibility chart clearly states that socket 939 is supported and the Zalman website shows the clip in the components section. I started a chat session with a Newegg rep to explain that the clip was missing but I didn’t get much of a resolution. She seemed to think that this was an accessory but could not tell me where to buy it or explain why the Zalman site shows it a part of the components that should be included. So now I’m stuck with a cooler that I can’t mount on a socket 939 that it is supposed to be compatible with.

It's a Gamble...

SAMSUNG 22" WSXGA+ LCD Monitor 2 ms (GTG) D-Sub, DVI-D 226BW
SAMSUNG 22" WSXGA+ LCD Monitor 2 ms (GTG) D-Sub, DVI-D 226BW

Pros: Looks great, reasonable price and awesome specs.

Cons: I got a model C and the in game ghosting is terrible. In Counter Strike Source the ghosting is so bad that every model looks like is has a lighter halo behind it when moving. I have an older 19" Acer LCD with 5ms response time and it blows the Samsung away.

Overall Review: I posted a video in a well know hard forum show the ghosting I'm seeing and most agree that it's model specific. So if you're feeling lucky and like to gamble hopefully you'll get a S but if you end up with a C like me you won't be a happy gamer.

Response Time

Acer 24" Active Matrix, TFT LCD WUXGA LCD Monitor with Height Adjustments 6ms (GTG) D-Sub, DVI AL2423Wdr
Acer 24" Active Matrix, TFT LCD WUXGA LCD Monitor with Height Adjustments 6ms (GTG) D-Sub, DVI AL2423Wdr

Pros: None

Cons: None

Overall Review: This is directed at reviewer Monitor and his response time concern. The 6ms response time refers to "gray to gray". The 16.2ms which you mention is "black to white".

Best bang for the buck...

Acer 19" TFT LCD SXGA LCD Monitor 8 ms D-Sub AL1916Ab
Acer 19" TFT LCD SXGA LCD Monitor 8 ms D-Sub AL1916Ab

Pros: - Unbeatable price after rebate. - Great image quality. - Fairly fast response rate, 8ms. - Looks good and has thin a board around the screen.

Cons: - No height adjustment

Overall Review: I was looking at 17” LCD monitors to run a dual monitor extended desktop setup. But once I saw this 19” for such a low price I could not resist. I was a little skeptical that the image quality would not be there so I first went down to a local electronics store and checked it out in action. I liked what I was so I ordered two. Setting it up was a snap and there were zero dead pixel on both units. I did however notice that when running in extended desktop mode the second monitor displayed a shadow effect. I was able to solve this by using a higher quality VGA cable. This however is not a monitor issue but a DVI to VGA convert issue. Image quality is very good even during game play (BF2). Only complaint I have is that there is no height adjustment and when both monitors were sitting side by side on the original stands they were exactly even. But since I am using the dual monitor stand I can adjust them as I wish. Bottom line is that this is a fantastic buy!!!
