Pros: 1. I think its got a better layout than the P5WD2-E Premium board. 2. Very easy to setup. 3. Overclock it too the moon 4. Asus AiBooster is pretty trick tool. P4 930 Dualcore with Zalman Fatal1ty Heatsink/Fan 2GB DDR2 PQI Turbo 5400 Sapphire 1900XTX 512 10270 3DMark05 oc'd at 3750 I am running at 3900 right now.
Cons: Only hitch I ran into was Windows XP Pro would blue screen on install until I flashed the bios.
Overall Review: You will have to manualy set DDR2 timings in bios. They get a default setting when you boot the first time. I also strongly reccomend Enermax Liberty 620 better safe than sorry. READ the instruction manual. It will save alot of headaches!
Pros: Incredible!!!! HalfLife 2 looks like a new game. EVERYTHING is at highest settings. It runs any games out there at rediculous settings. I can barely wait for conroe board and processor to crank this card and my 1900 XTX wide open. I don't understand why people complain about the dongle you just have to take your time and secure it tight.
Cons: Took me awhile to figure out you have to enable crossfire mode in catalyst control center. But that was really no problem.
Overall Review: I don't plan on updating these 2 until long after DX10 is out besides name a game that runs DX10 right now.
Warning!!! Core2 support is not Confirmed!!!
Pros: Great board a little expensive but very stable. I would urge anyone intrested to visit Asus Forums and research before buying. Thats where you get facts not stories.
Cons: Price. I have had a few problems but all have been solved by simply reading through the Asus forums.
Overall Review: CURRENTLY there is no support for CONROE I have searched the Asus forums. There are rumors but nothing in black and white yet. So if you have to have Conroe wait for the P5WDG2-WS PRO to be released which does support Conroe. They may or may not be able to support Conroe.
Pros: 1. No rheostat to goof with 2. Red heatsink and LED's look Hot 3. Intel P4 930 Dualcore 3.0ghz Oc'd to 3900 mhz and it sits at 41 C. 4. With Sapphire 1900XTX I was able to hit 10270 on 3DMark05 on my first run.(I think it will hit 4.25 with ease. 5. I have Zalman 7700 on a P4 540J and It won't spin as fast as the Fatal1ty. There is a difference!!
Cons: Only Con I have is you have to goto Zalman site and check your Mobo for fitment. The Fatal1ty will not fit on a P5WDG2-WS in a Lian Li V1200!! But it will fit the P5WDG2-WS in a Lian Li PC75!!
Overall Review: Sure it isn't cheap but try to get that temp with a stock Intel Heatsink/fan. The instructions are simple just take your time! I had it in and running in an hour.Probably helped that I had a 7700 so it was basicly the same but no big goofy rheostat.
The Best is yet to come...
Pros: Very very fast... BF2 is like a new game. I was able to crank all settings to high and max AA with no lag. 3dmark05 7894 only because mine came with 5.13 "hacked" drivers. Catalyst 6.2 beta are reporting back 11,000 plus. I can't wait for Catalyst 6.2 to be released. Abit AA8-Duramax P4 3.2 540j (my bottleneck) 2GB DDR2 PQI Turbo X1900 XTX 512 Sapphire 2 X WD Raptor 74 GB Raid 0 Lite-on SHW-160P6S Lian Li PC-V1200 plus
Cons: Only one ...noticed Motherboard Splash screen is funky (colors are mixed up).ATI is aware of this and should be fixed with 6.2.
Overall Review: Make sure you have at least 450 watt powersupply. Also check out ATI's site for approved powersupply's .I have a Enermax Liberty 620 and plan to do a crossfire in the future.
