Most Favorable Review

nice and small, and it works

i-rocks IR-8100-SL 12-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader with 3-Port USB2.0 Hub
i-rocks IR-8100-SL 12-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader with 3-Port USB2.0 Hub

Pros: Nice design and it works just as its supposed to. If you are just using it for reading memory cards, you don't even need the supplied power adapter. I can read my cameras CF and SD cards just fine without the power adapter.

Cons: none

Overall Review: it simply works.

Most Critical Review

Can't figure out SPDIF input

SYBA SD-AUD20040 7.1 Channels 48KHz USB Interface Sound Card
SYBA SD-AUD20040 7.1 Channels 48KHz USB Interface Sound Card

Pros: It's small, inexpensive, and is driven off USB power. It will work without drivers on a PC, but the drivers/software give you various surround options. You can plug in any audio device (mp3 player, etc) to the 3.5mm stereo input and have the sound come out of your PC speakers.

Cons: I can't seem to get the optical SPDIF input to work. I have the Syba usb cable connected to my laptop, and plugged in an optical cable from my xbox to the spdif input to try and get the sound to come out of my 5.1 speakers. It doesn't work and the option for spdif is grayed out, and I can't seem to enable it. So at this point, it's works only as a stereo analog decoder Also, you can't use this as a stand alone decoder for a PS3 or Xbox 360, it must be plugged into a PC to function.

Overall Review: I have a 5.1 speaker system plugged into this, and if I could somehow figure out how to have the device play from a SPDIF optical input, this thing would be gold. But at this point, I can only use the analog 3.5mm input jack which is not going to be as good as a digital 5.1 surround sound signal coming from an spdif input.

Good for the price

Rosewill REDBONE U3 - ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Black SECC Steel, USB 3.0, eSATA, 3 x 120mm Fans
Rosewill REDBONE U3 - ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Black SECC Steel, USB 3.0, eSATA, 3 x 120mm Fans

Pros: USB-3 ports and buttons at the top of the case for easy access, pleasant design without being too flashy. All the metal edges inside the case are rolled so you won't cut your fingers, and there seems to be plenty of space for large video cards, and it comes with 2 large fans (front + back). Everything inside is painted black and looks nice.

Cons: The metal throughout is pretty thin and a bit flexy compared to some other cases I've had, and the thumbscrews for the rear panels can be a bit harder to loosen up than others.

Overall Review: decent case for the price. inverted setup with the power supply on the bottom is nice, though it's not separated from the rest of the case. But over all, it looks and performs like it should.

works great in Samsung Galaxy S 4G

PNY 16GB microSDHC Flash Card for Tablet PCs Model P-SDU16G10TEFM1
PNY 16GB microSDHC Flash Card for Tablet PCs Model P-SDU16G10TEFM1

Pros: works in my phone perfectly, and is fast enough that I don't notice any lag or slow down with apps.

Cons: none

Overall Review: My phone (and many others) store apps on the SD card, so getting a fast card is a must if you want good performance out of your phone. I know some users complained about a bit of lag with this phone in stock form, but with this SD card, I haven't experienced any at all.

works!

Eagle Aspen P7003AP 3-Way 2600 MHz Splitter
Eagle Aspen P7003AP 3-Way 2600 MHz Splitter

Pros: Cheap, and it works splitting the cable signal in our condo to two TVs and a modem. Didn't notice any signal loss or internet slow down.

Cons: none

Overall Review: from past experience, I know some poor quality splitters can cause problems with HD tv signals. Not sure if the 2.6ghz frequency range makes a difference, but as far as I know, it doesn't hurt.

Excellent Mouse Pad

ZOWIE GEAR G-TF "SpawN" Cloth e-Sport Gaming Mouse Pad
ZOWIE GEAR G-TF "SpawN" Cloth e-Sport Gaming Mouse Pad

Pros: This is a great gaming mouse pad. I was a bit skeptical at first, as I've always just used a regular fabric mouse pad without any issue. My current pad was a few years old and very worn. This pad is great. The surface has a very fine texture to it. It's a little bit rough to the naked finger, but the mouse glides silky smooth over it. It's a fast glide, but also has a tiny bit of drag to make it really controllable. So it's really easy to make those fine movements and adjustments, and also to whip around a 180 degree turn. It's hard to explain, but seems to work very well for me. The construction is very nice quality, especially with the bound edges. The mat has a nice weight to it, and doesn't move at all on the desk.

Cons: The rubber backing on this mouse is a little stiffer than some others I've used. So when you first open it up, it won't lay flat. I put some books on it for a few days to help flatten it out, which seems to have worked. After that, it was about 99% flat, but should be completely flat in another week or so.

Overall Review: It is so much easier to move the mouse on this compared to my old mat, that I had to adjust my sensitivity a bit slower at first to get used to it. I noticed a definite improvement in my game within days of using the mouse mat. Not huge, but my stats have risen a small, but noticeable amount since I've had this.
