Nice Board

ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Nice Board and runs well. Be sure you set your memory settings in BIOS. See "other thoughts".

Cons: PCI Express X 1 slot. Bad placement on board due to Northbridge Heatsink being in the way. SATA 1 ....I pulled it off. Pulled to hard when disconnecting. Good thing I only need 2 of them.

Overall Review: I suggest for the previous owner who can't get his memory to run at 1600. Go into BIOS and uncheck the auto settings for detecting the memory speed and voltage. This fixed my problems for detecting the memory at the correct speeds.

Most Critical Review

this one does not work

Rosewill RC-304 - 2-Port Parallel (SPP / PS2 / EPP / ECP) Universal PCI Card
Rosewill RC-304 - 2-Port Parallel (SPP / PS2 / EPP / ECP) Universal PCI Card

Pros: Looks nice, Tech support was very helpful.

Cons: Just does not work with Vista 64bit....uses a Moschip set and with Rosewills latest updates and latest updates from moschip.com does not work. Per Rosewill techsupport the card might be bad.

Nice case ...but

Broadway Com Corp 1244MA-BLACK Glossy black Steel ATX Mini Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
Broadway Com Corp 1244MA-BLACK Glossy black Steel ATX Mini Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply

Pros: Broadcom does a excellent job by covering all exposed sides with a Shrink wrap! Case is fingerprint heaven on the glossy black. Included Card reader works well. PowerSupply is good enough for most low end users.

Cons: Ventilation...you can add either a 80mm or a 120mm fan to the front intake ports...BUT once you do that you can't correctly mount a Hard Disk Drive. So it is either the Fan or the Hard Disk Drive that you dump....hmmm let me see.

Works but...

TRENDnet TEW-P1UG Wireless 1-Port Print Server Wired: IEEE 802.3 10Base-T, IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX Wireless: IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0, 1.1 Compliant UB Type A port
TRENDnet TEW-P1UG Wireless 1-Port Print Server Wired: IEEE 802.3 10Base-T, IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX Wireless: IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0, 1.1 Compliant UB Type A port

Pros: Connection to printer works in about 15 seconds. We are connecting to a Plotter...it all depends on the print job. Setup with CD program works like a breeze...connection via Wireless....see cons.

Cons: PITA to setup. Took me 2 hours...normally this should have been 30 minutes at most. As advertised this unit is supposed to use WPA-PSK security. I could only get this thing to work with WEP-Open. I had to change my security for 3 laptops for this thing to work. We are running Windows XP SP3. Per Tech Support they wanted us to run Vista...if you still have a problem...they would fix it. WHAT??? ID10T! They could only get it to work with WEP also. I downloaded the latest Firmware patch that says it will get the unit running WPA-PSK...but that also did not work.

You couldn't ask for more!!!

SCEPTRE X24WG-1080P Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 4000:1 w/ Built in Speakers & HDCP Support, US Warranty
SCEPTRE X24WG-1080P Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 4000:1 w/ Built in Speakers & HDCP Support, US Warranty

Pros: If you want a monitor that has crisp clean pictures with a resolution set @ 1024 X 768 or higher, This is IT!!!!! I have found with my experience of Widescreen LCD's, the higher resolutions get great graphics(obviously)..but not all eyes are created equal. I install monitors for a lot of older folks that want the bigger screen so they can play their games, email family/friends, or just browse the web....with the resolution set to 1024x768 they get a massive monitor w/ superior graphics and regular size icons/fonts. Text on Internet is not teenie, tiny. The footprint is about 8" across and 5" deep. So it won't take up alot of space, especially when placing speakers behind it. Speaking of which, I have not used the speakers on it...Can't speak about that. ZERO bad pixels!!!! I have lots of luck with Sceptre LCD monitors....seeming as I have purchased 16 of them over the past year. I have only had one, that had a bad pixel in the left lower corner, 2 years ago.

Cons: Power/buttons are on the underside, center....but not a big issue, if your leaving it on. Just hard to find the first time. Once you know where they are, you can find them easily enough, for every day use, by sliding your hand underneath to power it up/down. Honestly though, I like it that they are hidden! Nice cosmetic effect!!!

Overall Review: If you are looking for a nice, quality 24 inch monitor...check this one out!! I installed this one for my brother-in-law, combined with a AVerTV media card.....Oh Vey!!!! AWESOME!!!

Works GREAT

LACIE 301257U 1TB 2big Network (2-disk RAID)
LACIE 301257U 1TB 2big Network (2-disk RAID)

Pros: This thing works!! Unlike previous commenters. I haven't had any issues setting these up for 3 customers. I have used Tech Support for 2 occasions and they were very quick with a answer...and not overseas either! +++++

Cons: LaCie Ethernet Agent - if you use the one that came with your disk you will be alright. If you upgrade to the version on line dated June 19th, 2008 you will have a problem with the client remembering your login and mapped drive you are routed to.

Overall Review: A response to others on a LAN and it periodically drops...I highly suggest a STATIC IP Address, as mapping would prove to be a problem with a DHCP Address. I have not used the Lacie 1 click backup software that comes with this equipment as I use SyncBack.
