Good product, might be an issue with thermal protection...
Pros: First thing I did was attempt to crack open the case to pull the HDD and clone it to an SSD I had lying around (See Cons). I am using this as a media PC using NPVR and Kodi on Win7. Unsurprisingly, this thing screams compared to the older Atom-based device I was using. Viewing streaming video has no hiccups, and playing HD files over the network is no problem. I use MCEBuddy (SUPER software with great developer supt) to transcode NVPR files from -TS to smaller MPEG4. Near the end of these file conversions is when I heard fans whine at an alarmingly high pitch. Checking processor temps, they were peaking at high 100's. I kicked down the number of cores to use for conversion and adjusted program priority to "low" within MCEBuddy, and that seemed to address the heating issue. I might crack it open again and check the quality/quantity of thermal paste on the heat sync, as I never had any thermal issues on the Atom box.
Cons: First one I received had stripped out case screws, making it impossible to unscrew them so I could pull the HDD for cloning. Thankfully the unit went on further discount ~2wks after purchase, so I ordered another which turned out to be a good thing after receiving the first. The 2nd ane had one munged up screw head, but not nearly as bad as the first so I was able to remove it. I replaced it with stuff I had lying around. No wireless adapter is included, though this is not necessarily a bad thing. A built-in adapter on a device a few years old is likely not well suited to a more current AC router like I have. Not including a built-in gives one the ability to drop in a more current USB wireless adapter, even though that chews up a USB slot on a device that has few. I am using this connected to a wireless bridge using a LAN cable instead.
Overall Review: For the price that includes an OS, HDD, 4GB RAM, wired keyboard/mouse, you cannot beat the value for a media PC device. Even if you don't plan to open the case, I recommend checking the screws upon receipt to see if they are stripped and/or cross-threaded. This could be a decent desktop as well for basic Office and web use - google for compatibly VESA-based mounts to attach this to the back of a monitor for a brew-your-own All-in-one.
Horrible non-compatible product that does NOT fit 5370-DW Printer
Pros: Shipped fast??
Cons: Cartridge is clearly not a match for the existing Brother brand TN620 cartridge - it's about half the size and does not really fit in place of the old cartridge. Bought this 5/2016 knowing my Brother cartridge was running out but did not need it til 2/2017 and disappointingly found it is worthless. I have to get a toner cartridge NOW because I need it - teach me to buy ahead LOL...
Overall Review: I can see why this is no longer for sale at NewEgg - terrible stinky product, first I have come across after many years. I guess some slip through the cracks every once in a while...
No Sweat!
Pros: Fits my HTC Touch Pro 2 (yeah, I am a Windows Mobile dinosaur!) snugly - carry it in my cycling jersey with literally no sweat on the phone! Can use the phone's touch screen through the container - accessing the display button at the top was a challenge though.
Cons: none
Overall Review: inside of the container is very grippy, making it a tad difficult to get an admittedly larger phone in the container. Just take it easy getting it in there and you will be fine. There are two sides, one that is full-coverage transparent and the other that is half-coverage. First time (and a few times since) I put the phone facing the half-covered side. Not real useful to actually use the phone...
Does what it needs to
Pros: Does what it needs to...
Cons: ...doesn't do anything it shouldn't.
