Very nice, solid card

MSI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card R5770 Hawk
MSI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card R5770 Hawk

Pros: -Quiet (fans virtually inaudible until you hit roughly 70%, stays on 35% auto, and even overclocked (see other thoughts), the highest speed the auto settings has taken them is about 71%) -Very solid construction, very high quality parts (should benefit lifespan) -Great overclocker (I have yet to see any other 5770 on the market outperform this one for overclocking, without modifications) -Compact size

Cons: None really, but if I had to nitpick... -No ramsinks (buy them yourself if you're really overclocking to the MAX, but they aren't necessary at stock or moderate overclocking) -Be cool if it was a 256-bit memory interface, but it's not like you don't know this going in...

Overall Review: My Rig: Antec 300 case (140 mm case fan at the top has significant impact on temps of this GPU. Idle/Load (without vs with 140 mm case fan) 38C/74C without vs. 32C/63C. This card and the Twin Frozr II REALLY favors decent case airflow ASUS M477TD Mobo AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 125W (@stock clocks) A-DATA DDR31600 (@ full 1600) Corsair TX650W Power supply Stock voltage on card was 1.2v. Left there, 960/1370 would run MSI Kombustor at 1080 (furmark) for over 10 minutes stable. Didn't test it beyond that. 24/7 OC (stock voltage) is 940/1340 at the moment. May take mem down to 1320 just for longevity's sake. My experience so far: 3DMark06 @ stock clocks on my rig = approx 16,200-16,300 3DMark06 @ 940/1340 (stock voltage) = approx 16,800-16,900 Runs Crysis @ 1920x1080 (half settings on Very High, half on high, no AA) at about an average of 39-40 fps. Runs BF:BC2 @ 1920x1080 on MAX settings with 2xAA and 4xAF averaging about 50fps, with minimum being in the mid 30's.

Overclocked and stable

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F1-3200PHU2-2GBNS

Pros: -Very stable running at a 220 Mhz FSB (DDR 440) @2.7 volts and stock timings -Pretty heat spreaders

Cons: None

Overall Review: Installed and running at above specs on an NF4ST-A9 motherboard with a Venice core 3200+ cpu...

Perfect

Targus Ergonomic X-Stand for Laptops AWE09US
Targus Ergonomic X-Stand for Laptops AWE09US

Pros: -Small and simple -Easy to store -Solidly built -Adjustable in every logical way -Allows for MUCH better airflow under a laptop, resulting in significant reduction in operation temps - Under heavy load for extended time periods, my GPU temps were hitting 90 C in my HP DV7 laptop and causing some throttling lag in games... Sitting on this stand, the highest I've seen it hit was only about 85 C (after extended periods of heavy load in a high ambient temp) and is usually only about 81-82 C during long periods of load. Throttling lag is gone too.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Obviously, if you are buying this for cooling reasons, the amount of cooling will be dependent upon how your specific computer is built and where your fans and vents are, but since this stand is so simple with such small contact points with your computer, the airflow under your laptop will be greatly improved versus just sitting on a table.

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4 GHz 3MB L2 Cache Socket P 25W Dual-Core BX80577P8600 Processor

Pros: -Solid Reliability -Great temps for me (Idles in the low 30's C and maxes at 60 C when playing games for extended periods with ambient air temp in the upper 70's F) -Low power consumption

Cons: None that I've ever experienced

Overall Review: -Runs in my HP DV7t-1000 (with 4GB DDR2 mem, Nvidia 9600m GT -Never tried OC'ing or undervolting, though I have heard others have some success in OC'ing (a bit more mixed reviews as far as undervolting); Only reason I would even consider undervolting is in an attempt to lower my GPU temps, though I highly doubt it would have any effect since this CPU already runs pretty cool.
