Disappointed
Pros: Design
Cons: Does not work. Bought two of these and had 6 2.5" HDD's to use. Whatever I'm about to type applies to both of the enclosures I bought. Ran into many problems with the computer not being able to recognize the drive. When it is recognized, the drives would show up as a path letter and can't be opened or formatted. When I finally got the computer to recognize the drives, after unplugging it and reinserting the drives into the enclosures, I used Roadkill's Diskwipe from the Hiren's CD to fully erase drive and formatted them to NTFS. Computer then sees the drives and does make it usable... until I decide to eject the drive and test it out by reinserting it. I get a 20% success rate of when the computer recognizes the drive. I tested it out on every port on my laptop and desktop. Works at random times with very little success. I believe the SATA controller in between the HDD and the wire is what is designed poorly. The best connection between a hard drive and a USB port are the ones that involve a direct connection without a SATA controller in between. Something like the Apricorn cables with a SATA connector on one end and a USB connector on the other end works best.
Overall Review: Will be returning these to get an enclosure without a SATA controller as a middle man.
