Misunderstood & Lonely Board

EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Works. Bios updates have definitely helped. Same lovely, easy to overclock bios. Looks nice too. Great cooling solutions. Solid state capacitors, Tri-SLI, full penryn support.

Cons: Not all aftermarket cpu fans will work with this. It is also picky about RAM.

Overall Review: Make sure you RAM will work. I use DDR3-1600 OCZ Platinums 2x2gb. This runs well on my vista ultimate 64bit edition. Remember also that 99% of all ddr3 requires you to manually set the timings, speed, and voltage. Additionally, Pre-Sp1 vista will only install if you install it with one memory stick in, else it'll bluescreen. After you install sp1 you can use the others.

Not any better than regular routers

NETGEAR WPN824NAR RangeMax Wireless Router IEEE 802.11b/g
NETGEAR WPN824NAR RangeMax Wireless Router IEEE 802.11b/g

Pros: This router works as stated. Get decent signal. Quick and easy setup. Great, auto-updating firmware.

Cons: I have a rangemax USB adapter with this, that is garbage. After switching from my non-rangemax linksys router, to this one, I LOST signal.

Overall Review: I have the latest firmware update as well. Was kind of disappointing... also Netgear makes terrible drivers.

Bad Adapter

NETGEAR WPN111 RangeMax Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Up to 108Mbps Wireless Data Rates
NETGEAR WPN111 RangeMax Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Up to 108Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: It runs on Windows Vista/Windows 7

Cons: Difficult to install. Software freezes. I only get 1 bar of signal. Receives less signal than my previous non-rangemax adapter.

Overall Review: I had the regular Netgear Wireless G adapter before this and got 3-4 bars of signal... How would I get less now with an apparently "better" wireless device?

Good Ram

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK

Pros: Ran fast and well. This ram ran at it's rated speed perfectly.

Cons: Had to manually set voltage (which is fine for me.) But now the ram can no longer run at rated voltgage without freezing. Cannot play games or run memtest without freezing.

Overall Review: Will see how RMA'ing with OCZ goes and then I will update this post. If all goes well, I will change this to a 5 eggs. :) This was $300 when I bought it. =(

Awsome fan&heatsink

ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP
ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP

Pros: 45 Degree temps under load for my Q6600 overclocked to 3.2ghz. Works like a charm.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I had a coolermaster aftermarket heatsink/fan in there before. This complete destroys that!

Love it!

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AL804
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AL804

Pros: Overclocked over 1000mhz while keeping the timings the same. Still couldve overclocked more!

Cons: They don't make 2x2gb sticks...

Overall Review: I had to upgrade to ddr3-1600 and I still miss these sticks of RAM. The LEDs were an afterthought to me but now that I had them, I don't want to part with them! Its sad that there is no Crucial Ballistix Tracer ram for ddr3 at a reasonable price. =(
