Impressive - GO FOR IT

Pros: This is a quality board and is built very solid. I thought that it was hype when they said that this board has twice the amount of Copper compared to others. Plenty of SATA ports.
Cons: None really
Overall Review: This is my first Gigabyte board. I initially purchaed the Asus P5N-D and had nothing but problems. I finally RMA's the Asus board and decided to give this board a try. I am sold on Gigabyte now and my future builds are going to be Gigabyte.
STAY AWAY !!!

Pros: None
Cons: No POST. I opened up a case with Asus tech support and they told me that the BIOS may be outdated for my Intel Core 2 Quad 8200. They made me pay $15 to ship a BIOS chip that's smaller than a postage stamp !!!! I swapped the BIOS and still no POST. At this point I gave up and decided to RMA
Overall Review: I always thought that Asus was one of the top MB manufacturers out there. Extremely disappointed
It DOES DO Virtualization

Pros: See other thoughts
Cons: See other thoughts
Overall Review: I saw an earlier comment that this CPU does not support virtualization. That is incorrect. All Core 2 Quad procs support virtualization http://www.intel.com/products/processor/core2quad/specifications.htm You need a motherboard and BIOS that supports this function
Rocks !!

Pros: 45nm technology, 1333 FSB
Cons: Only 4 MB L2 Cache. I took one star off becasue of the the awful pins that need to lock the heatsink on to the CPU
Overall Review: I was in a dilemma whether to go with this CPU (Q8200) vs the Q6600. The Q8200 has a faster FSB, but smaller cache. After doing about an hours worth f research, I finally decided to go with the Q8200. Here'w why If you are a gamer or an avergage user you will get more benefit from teh Q8200 with the faster FSB. The 45nm chip also will consume less power and will run cooler. However, if you plan to run applications that manipulate large amounts of data (Eg. SQL Server, Oracle, Video Editing of very large files, etc), then the Q6600 may be a better bet because you will benefit from the extra cache.
Nice...

Pros: Good quality dual-layer media
Cons: I've had about 2 coasters in a 25-pack
Overall Review: The prices on these media are coming down a lot slower than I thought they would
Works !!

Pros: Install was a breeze. System recognised it immediately. I was struggling with 512 MB on XP. With 1.5 GB I can now run XP in a VM and go with Linux!!!
Cons: None really
Overall Review: I paid about three times as much for a 512 MB stick of pqi RAM when I built my system about 3 years ago. I guess that's a fact of life that we all have to live with ...
