Ooooo....pretty.
Pros: Sturdy board...very rugged. Aesthetically pleasing look. Love the fact that the armor won't let it bend. BIOS is easy to configure and has plenty of features. Setting up RAID 0 array was very easy.
Cons: Cabling was somewhat difficult to hide wires if you want a clean look. The plastic armor is a little hard to work around.
Overall Review: This is one of the best/easiest mobos I've installed. Love the fact that the armor won't let it bend when you're putting into a case. BTW- looks awesome in a Corsair C70 Military Green case.
Great mid-range mobo
Pros: - Easy OC tools built-in. Got to 5ghz on a 8700k easily. - Excellent built-in sound. Specifically chose this MB because it has an optical SPDIF that the TUF Plus version does not. - Nice arrangement of features. Memory layout is nice. Plenty of room for my waterblock and radiators. Was able to hook up SATA cables to the front and not worry about stacking them (inline arrangement). - Has a fan hookup for a water cooling pump . Noice! - Turned on XMP and memory was detected at 3200 right away...just the way it should be.
Cons: - My previous board was the Sabertooth z87 with the TUF Armor and mini-fans and had a solid look to it. I miss that Asus!! I want the TUF Armor back! Whaaa! Might take the armor from my old board and glue it on the new one. 8^) - Orange LED. Comes in just one color....Orange! Does not go with my green LED's so I turned it off. BIOS option was a little tricky to find but easy to turn it off once located. - CPU Fan detection. If you hook your watercooler into the pump connect, you must turn off the CPU Fan detection in the BIOS or you system will not start properly. Had to figure out how to shut that down...would have been nice if it just prompted me with a "Do you want to see this again? (Y/N)"
Overall Review: I like this board...did not pay a whole bunch of cash, has nice features and a fairly nice quasi-military looking aesthetic. Still want the TUF Armor though!!
Not an EVGA fanboy...until now
Pros: Extreme performance with very low temps. Standard GPU Clock 2000mhz Standard Mem Clock 5508mhz @3440x1440 (Right out of the box) Benchmark FPS Score ------------------------------------------------------- Heaven 68.6 1728 Valley 107.1 4481 SupPos 112.33 15018 1080Med SupPos 44.57 5958 1080Extreme Temps never went beyond 50°C! Running PUBG Ultra everything at more than 75FPS 3440x1440 35inch screen...sooo pretty
Cons: The Price....oh the price. Wife's an accountant...hard to hide this one from her. Slight gurgling sound...seems to be going away over time. Very tall card...make sure you have room in your case.
Overall Review: This card's got plenty of potential untapped. Lots of overhead for a nifty OC...I'm figuring it out now.
Just freakin' amazing!
Pros: Temps are amazing! Stock settings: 28C idle 40C on load (BF4 Ultra settings) OC'd 1444mhz: 34C idle 48C on load Sometimes seeing 140fps+ on BF4 Ultra settings....insane Braided hoses! Backplate!
Cons: Price. Gurgling sound (bubbles)....but went away after 2 days. Fan noise...but only when 2500RPM or above....set fan to auto...never hear it. Radiator/Fan are 120mm and (together) are 2 inches thick...make sure you have room.
Overall Review: This is a great card for people that want to run liquid cooling but don't want to deal with setting up a plumber's workshop in their system.
Bought 2 - RAID0
Pros: Bought 2 and configured them in a RAID 0 array- Achieved 980MB/s Read and 960MB/s Write all day long. Even saw it exceed 1GB/s during a benchmark (not sustained). Load up times on some apps is near instantaneous.
Cons: Have to flash the firmware on the drives to make sure they're up to date...not a real biggie. Just follow the directions on the Samsung site. If you are going to put these in a RAID array, making sure the firmware is current is a must!!!
Overall Review: Best drives I've ever owned.
Kill Rightie! (just kidding)
Pros: Comfortable, ergonomic, functional, and left-handed. Able to create custom macros and launch them very quickly via a mouse button. Synapse 2 software great improvement over old software (no longer locks keyboard in conjunction with Logitech G930 software). Use the Naga for everyday use and BF3 (soon BF4). Have already started creating Commander Mode macros.
Cons: Learning curve. Takes a while to build muscle memory to find the proper buttons. Also, agree with the first poster...would much rather have a rubberized grip than textured.
Overall Review: Appreciate Razer for thinking of lefties when they make and design their products. I own the left-handed DeathAdder as well and found it to be of great quality as well (although the original Synapse software sucked!)
