does work with NTFS

D-Link DI-624S Wireless 108G USB Storage Router IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g
D-Link DI-624S Wireless 108G USB Storage Router IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g

Pros: good router, usb service drive capabilities. i can cut the signal down to 25% and still get a "very good" signal on another floor of my house.

Cons: the usb server drive is why i bought this router, it was an upgrade from a di-624, same thing, without the usb drives. i had my 500GB HD with some stuff on it that i wanted to put on my network. the hard drive is NTFS and the router did not allow information to be written on the NTFS drive. after a lot of looking i found one note about that on d-links web page: "NTFS formats can be read only and can not written to. The DI-624S/DNS-120/DNS-G120 can use the FAT32 format, which has the ability to read and write. These products were written under Linux GPL. Microsoft holds the rights for NTFS (New Technology File System). NTFS is a proprietary format." that is a bit interesting because mircosoft also developed FAT32. and i know other people who have routers with the same capabilities that use a NTFS drive. d-link, however does not support that for some reason. i could use FAT32, but it works better with smaller drives. and i dont want to reformat my half full drive.

Overall Review: so if you plan to buy this over the plain di-624, with plans on useing a big NTFS drive, be aware that it is read-only. also, most, if not all, new external drives come with NTFS on them. so a couple hour reformat will be required to use it with this router. Newegg delivered it fast, as always.
