Nice cheap laptop

Pros: Works perfectly right out of the box. Not to say it doesn't benefit greatly from some tweaking but its certainly not required. Can't say too much for the stock speed as I upgraded the ram to 4GB after booting it to make sure it worked. With 4gigs though its certainly a solid performer. Nice large 16:9 widescreen. text is clear and sharp and what games I've tried look nice with no ghosting that I could pick out. no stuck/dead pixels that I've noticed yet. The case is very nice looking. definitly doesn't look like a cheap laptop. refined, sleek, and classy. would fit equally well in a meeting or a classroom.
Cons: Battery life is pretty iffy. The most I've been able to squeeze out of it is 2 MAYBE 3 hours. Don't expect to use this all day without having a 3-prong plug-in handy. not a huge deal for my purposes but its something to consider. mine also had a couple little nicks in the silver paint around the touch-pad but nothing major. Also the glossy cover, while attractive, is a fingerprint magnet. you're goingsee every greasy thumbprint no matter how lightly you touch it. Other than that nothing that could really qualify as a "con" It may not be the fastest machine out there but then if your looking in this price range thats really not what you should be after anyway.
Overall Review: Just to clarify I'm using this essentialy as a netbook, so I can't really speak for heavier usage, and I can't really imagine it performing all that well. But for the same price range as one of those teeny-tinny netbooks you can get something that will perform at least equally well and includes the extra frills you'd have to do without on the smaller platform. Namely you get a full size keyboard/numpad, more powerful processor, a disk drive, and a nice glossy screen that you don't have to squint to read. overall well worth the money.
Great Monitor... while it lasts

Pros: Big, bright, and dirt cheap. I bought this display about a year and a half ago and, until I started having problems with it, it was a dream. It's surprisingly crisp and clear for such a large monitor and the price really can't be beat.
Cons: Unfortunately after about a year (just out of warranty) the screen started flickering black, the power LED would still be on but otherwise the monitor would seem off. This would last for 4-5 minutes at a time. Then the picture itself began to degrade, there were visible bands of static on the picture. Admittedly these were largely invisible more than 4-5 feet away, but I sit relatively close to my monitors (poor eyesight) and this became extremely annoying. Customer service was basically non-existent.
Overall Review: You get what you pay for. Great display if you don't mind replacing it every year or so when it starts to burn out. I'd recommend spending more and getting something that will last. There's plenty more 27" displays out there from better companies than this. Every Hanns-G product I've owned has been bargain basement at best.
If you've seen one you've seen em all

Pros: exactly what it claims to be. the wrist rest is comfortable enough, nothing amazing but soft while still being supportive. Pretty standard no frills gel-wrist rest/mouse pad. Doesn't make my wrist sweat, which is nice. Comparable to pretty much any other gel wrist support pad on the market.
Cons: The mousing surface is way to small for anything but the smallest mice. My logitech G5 was very cramped, but still usable. The Fabric surface is also a little to rough for my tastes and tends to kind of catch the mouse during heavy use. This is a matter of taste though and both of these problems are easily solved (see other thoughts). The product also does have a pretty bad rubber-neoprene smell right out of the packaging but it fades quickly and after and hour or so its hardly noticeable unless you put your nose right up to it.
Overall Review: After about a day of trying to use the mousing surface I gave up and just cut the pad portion off with a pair of scissors. I am now only using the wrist rest, which actually makes the product much more comfortable as I am no longer limited to the tiny odd shaped pad provided. For the price its still worthwhile getting just for the gel pad.
great little laptop

Pros: small, small, small. the absolute epitome of ultra portables. If your looking for a size comparison think DVD shell or small hardback book. Doesn't weigh much more than an average hardback either. The addition of the multi-touch pad is also a wonderful feature, and more than makes up for the hard to use clickbar (see cons). Scrolling and clicking couldn't be simpler. The screen is large and bright and colors look sharp and clear. The built in linux runs blazingly fast with only the occasional hiccup. Overall a good, high quality machine. Especially the for the price.
Cons: Don't even think about installing windows in this machine. I tried it soon after getting it and the machine just chugged. This is where most of the complaints of the machine's speed come from. The built in SSD is just too slow to run XP smoothly. Also the keyboard and clickbar have their problems. The keyboard is small, but not unusable and with a few days of practice its possible to touch-type, which is how the review was written. The click-bar is also hard to use and is awkwardly positioned but with the multi-touch pad this is a non-issue.
Overall Review: Don't buy this machine and expect to run windows on it, it won't work. At least not at anything faster than a slow crawl. Luckily the built in Linux OS is extremely user friendly and very reminiscent of windows after enabling desktop mode. anyone familiar and comfortable with windows will do fine with the eee's OS. If you want an eee that will run windows fork out the extra $150 for the 12g or 20g, but if your fine with linux this is the machine for you.

Pros: Can't say whether or not this lowers temps on its own as I bought this to apply to a replacement CPU. But I can attest to the overall quality of the product, which is very high. Application was easy, although this stuff does seem a little harder to spread than other pastes I've used. But if that means its denser then that's probably a good thing.
Cons: Nothing is perfect, not even Artic Silver. Although nothing glaring enough to single any one thing out, so its as close as is humanly possible.
Overall Review: This won't magically turn your overheating PC into an icebox, but it does do its job, and does it well. You won't be disappointed with this product.
amazed

Pros: After I purchased this card I was afraid I wouldn't see a worthwhile improvement. How wrong was I. The improvement is incredible, even the Window's startup jingle sounds better.
Cons: I now feel the need to buy better speakers.
Overall Review: make sure you've got room for it in your case. Some MoBo's don't leave much room for PCIe 1x slots and if you've got 2-3 vid cards blazing away you might have a hard time getting this card installed. This shouldn't be much of a problem though as the card is much smaller than it looks in pictures, would definitely fit well in smaller form factor cases.
