Great little netbook

Pros: Good build quality, quiet, runs cool, boots fast, good battery life, nice keyboard and screen. I really like the machine.
Cons: ASUS should have incorporated the advanced desktop option into the flavor of Xandros they ship with the eee PC1000. There are plenty of sources on the internet to guide one through the necessary steps to add the option, but why not ship the machine with this option already enabled? Or better yet, package the machine with a modified version of Ubuntu.
Overall Review: This is a sound little machine, easy to use and easy to recommend.
Buggy

Pros: Inexpensive and feature laden.
Cons: BIOS issues and northbridge chip gets extremely hot.
Overall Review: I received a board that would successfully complete the power on self test, but would then issue a beep code and hang. The beep code indicated a memory parity error using both newly purchased RAM and RAM known to work from another machine. ECS technical support suggested an update to the BIOS, however, since the machine would hang after POST, there was no way to boot to floppy or CD so it was not possible to update the BIOS. Board is being replaced with a Gigabyte 780G model board.
Good video cam flawed USB

Pros: Compact Good video even in low light Very easy to use
Cons: USB connector will not fit computer USB ports. Tried in Dell M1530, Compaq F700 series and an ASUS EEE 1000.
Overall Review: In researching this issue, I found this to be a common problem. For some, a USB extension cable will work. We tried this and that does seem to be a solution, provided the cable input side has adequate clearance. Currently working with Pure Digital Technologies (FLIP video) on a resolution.
Great router

Pros: Reliable, easy setup, and can use open source firmware to really enhance the router.
Cons: CISCO has significantly reduced the amount of memory in the newer versions of these routers.
Overall Review: Have had excellent service from an older (V1) version of this router. Just bought a new one (V7) to use as an inexpensive wireless adapter for an XBOX 360 (via dd-wrt firmware with wireless set to client mode). Newer versions of this router have only 2MB of flash memory so only the micro version of dd-wrt firmware can be used.
Cable works fine

Pros: It works just fine and costs far less than "brand name" HDMI cable.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Do some research before spending a lot of money on an HDMI cable. The signal is digitial, so the only real issue is whether or not the signal will experience bit loss. Inexpensive cable like this will do the job provided it does not have to be exceptionally long.
Works as advertised

Pros: Very reasonable price. Works as advertised.
Cons: none so far
