Great Value, No Problems
Pros: Snagged the M2 500GB drive on sale and now I am not worried that the next Win 10 update will fail for lack of space on Drive C. Cloned my 256GB SSD with my own Acronis after setting up my ASUS BIOS to use the M2 slot on my board. Since this was just a capacity update more than a migration from a rust HD, no big obvious difference in performance and certainly no drop off. -Good value, especially if on sale -Specs suggest power savings and good performance -M2 performance should be a bit better than 2.5 in SSD it replaced
Cons: - None so far
Overall Review: I would recommend this drive to others. I assume the 2.5 in versions are also good value performers. Warranty is longer that many and newegg delivery and sale prices are hard to beat.
On its way back
Pros: Was Cheap
Cons: Didn't Work. Bought for Backup. Wouldn't complete without I/O error. Copied large backup from another drive, tried to do a MD5 hash, wouldn't complete. Tried laptop w native USB3, same outcome. Did a few small files OK, but assume more of them and there would be errors. No SMART
Overall Review: Son is returning new expensive laptop w bad Toshiba disk this week too, so no more Toshiba disks for this household. newegg RMA process smooth and painless except for return shipping cost. Wrecks the possible economy of a new drive for backups.
Does the Job
Pros: Simple. Does the Job. Good Value especially since I bought on Shell Shocker. VESA mounts line up -- nice when standards actually do benefit. Hit three 16" center joists -- good thing they were properly aligned. Samsung 50" LED now on wall
Cons: None really. No left-right turning, just some up down tilt, but that is all I wanted and as advertised, so no eggs off
Overall Review: So close to wall not a lot of room for hands to tighten tilt adjustment knobs. Had to swap one HDMI w big moulded ends for a more standard one (thus preserving one sideways port for later use). Would hold up TV + my couch with 6 big lag screws in studs. Used to say good to 50" TV now says 65" -- New LED TVs are lighter than couple of years ago -- check spacing and width if you have a TV over 50"
Good Unit
Pros: Integrates with my Set Top Box and Windows MCE Can access my cable company guide AND the Media Center Guide both. Blaster runs my Motorola DCX 700-M unit -- old TV tuner card controller would not work w MCE. Can use keyboard or this remote to run STB.
Cons: none yet except the DCX700 needs a pretty slow IR signal so could be faster channel changes... Didn't get fairly common shell shocker or other discount price.
Overall Review: Had an analog tuner card but went to HD TV in other room and wanted access to all the channels I was paying for. Instead of $20/month for Cable PVR, I bought this and use it to run a $9.95/month second set top box. Use S-video in to my old TV tuner card in PC and record decent (not full HD) quality of air TV May upgrade to HD input device when a decent one becomes affordable. Samsung TV came w streaming software for my PC so can do full PVR stuff now.
Great Cofee Great Price
Pros: Bought one refurbed 2 years ago, still making great espresso. My wife gets lots of real steam for great Cappuccinos although I stick to coffee. Nice crema. Does the 15 Bar thing vs some low cost units. Simple controls (switch + manual valve) don't break.
Cons: Not quiet, but only takes about 2 min to heat up and then make a coffee...
Overall Review: You will likely have trouble drinking regular coffee if you get going with a decent espresso machine like this. I am sure some leave it on all morning, but unit heats up fast enough that we turn off after every use -- you don't want to be drinking 6 to 8 cups of espresso a morning
Does the job
Pros: Plug in. It works. As cheap as bare 2 GB drive Let me turn off a 100+Watt old box using as a NAS Allows remote access to files. Pretty fair speed for price using all wired intranet access.
Cons: Nice if could easily access linux system too bad not USB-3 for added disk A bit rigid in Folders/Shares, but for this price, who cares.
Overall Review: Got it locally for even less then egg price -- that doesn't happen often. Will update review if problems develop. Didn't mess w the software, just looked up router IP assignment and used browser to set it up. Have better backup software to use and files are just drag and drop. Files for sharing might be easier w their software, but segateshare site lets you select what you share. Obviously if it dies soon, I will not be happy, but after reading a fair # of not so hot reviews, I am glad I took a shot. Buying local got me free of any RMA and shipping concerns
As advertised Cable
Uneventful purchase. Would buy again. Nothing remarkable to rate 5 eggs.
