Great PSU

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-550VX 550 W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-550VX 550 W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Pros: Plenty of cables, HIGH efficiency, simple color design (as in, it wont burn your eyes with 200 LEDs), super-quiet fan

Cons: Not modular, but you'd have to pay a LOT more for that in a PSU of this quality

Overall Review: Ran a Q6600, 8800GT, and 4GB of DDR2 RAM with no problems at all.

Forget about waiting.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W Processor - BX80562Q6600
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W Processor - BX80562Q6600

Pros: SPECTACULAR multi-tasking and speed in anything at all; this processor has it all; 4 cores for this price may seem steep, but quad-core is the future. Well, until octo-core.

Cons: It's still a little pricey, but it's NOT going down in price when Penryn comes out, so don't wait. Even though it's a 'fake' quad, it shows the real performance. Oh, and for your sake, DON'T use the stock HSF if you're overclocking.

Don't listen to the people complaining about Vista drivers!

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: Cheap, huge improvement over on-board sound, and it's PERFECTLY FUNCTIONAL WITH VISTA.

Cons: It's not the card's fault that the idiot buyer didn't bother to download the NEW drivers for Vista from the Creative website and instead used the out-dated ones on the DVD.

Overall Review: Perfectly good card with Vista functionality.

Price/Performance is AMAZING!

EVGA 512-P3-N805-A1 GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 512-P3-N805-A1 GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: Performance, pre-overclocked, PRICE (sure, it's a lot higher than the MSRP, but as long as it's below the 8800GTX, it's offering it's value), EVGA's Step-up program, game bundle! It's even pre-overclocked, for those of us who are afraid of warranty violations.

Cons: Yes, it's over the MSRP, big deal, you get the Step-up deal and a game bundle, so get over it.

Overall Review: The 8800GT is clearly the best buy right now, it's just about picking your brand, and EVGA's Step-up and game bundle look good right now...

Excellently priced!

ADATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model AD2U800B1G5-DRH
ADATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model AD2U800B1G5-DRH

Pros: Good quality, but CHEAP - you can finally afford 4GBs at a price light on your wallet.

Cons: Slow timings, but I haven't tried overclocking it. However, unless you obsess over statistics, the difference in timing is never going to be noticeable.

Overall Review: Cheap, quality memory. What more can you ask for?

Amazing Deal

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard

Pros: P35 chipset, all-solid-capacitor design, enough ports for a non-tweaker/enthusiast

Cons: No Firewire port! It's also has less ports in quantity than it's bigger DS3R and DS3P cousings, but it's also quite a bit cheaper.

Overall Review: Perfectly functional, all-solid-capacitor board. Easy to install, and at a great price-point.
