Pros: Works fine, tried burning 3 DVD's (1 TDK and 2 Verbatum), no errors, recorded successfully, however, there was only choice record in either 8X or 16 X speeds. Another thing, be aware this particular model is not a US model, even in description it says 1 year warranty and referencing US LG web site. Pros: It works

Cons: When it burns CD's it started making very loud and strange noise. The first DVD disk (TDK) burned, failed (without any error message, it's just stopped burning) Some DVD burners don't like certain DVD / CD brands. Tried different DVD disk brand - Verbatum - burned fine, but still making very loud noise, in addition I've heard something that seems something got loose inside. Because of the curioucity wanted to check any updated drivers just to see if there are that still will be a DVD burn failure with TDK DVD disk, didn't find any on manufacture's web link, and window's update. Weel, didn't like the noise at all even the product works, so returning, getting LG.
