3550a - Exceeds Expectations
Pros: Burns CD's/DVD's fast and reliably. This is my 4th NEC dual layer burner. I have 2 / 3520a and 2 / 3550a. All work as advertised. I have also flashed the firmware on each, some more than once without issue using a USB enclosure. Although NEC advises against this, I have had no problems flashing or using these burners. I have owned many other brands, HP, Sony, Lite-On and Pioneer. The NEC is one of the best thus far.
Cons: Haven't found any...
Overall Review: Using with Nero 6.6 and DVD Shrink. These burners have worked with every brand media I have tried. Sony, Fuji, RiData, GQ and TDK.
Outrageous Price
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Price is way too high
Overall Review: Buyer beware. I have been using 3rd party SLA batteries as replacements in every UPS I've owned in my home and at work (once a unit is no longer under warranty). I have never had an issue related to performance or quality when using a 3rd party battery. Why anyone would pay these prices for an OEM battery which in this case offers no additional benefit, increase in performance or reliability. Look elsewhere... there is nothing wrong with using a good quality 3rd party battery in your UPS. They are every bit as good, and every bit as reliable as OEM.
HAF 922 Blue w/ side window
Pros: Unsurpassed Airflow
Cons: Caddy's for HDD's poorly designed, grommets delicate
Overall Review: I own two of these cases. One is the blue LED version (this product) with the plexiglass side window. The other is the red LED version with a vent mesh side panel. The case comes with 3 fans total. A single 120mm exhaust fan at the rear and two 200mm fans, front and top. All of the fans are 3 wire so variable speed control is possible if supported by your MB or if using a fan controller. There are 10 tool-less bays for peripherals, and holes for an external water cooling system. The case offers plenty of room for full size vid cards in SLI or Crossfire setups. Case is also deep enough to accommodate just about any aftermarket CPU cooler. The exception being if you added a 4th fan on the mesh side "red LED version" panel and had an extremely tall cooler. Easy enough to determine. The best feature of this case is its airflow. It's just unsurpassed here. There are several options depending on which case you choose and the type of cooling you decide on. Of course with increased
Value PSU
Pros: 80 plus Cert Active PFC
Cons: Voltage flucuation noted on 12v rail
Overall Review: The cx500v2 is an entry level value with the Corsair name. It's warranty is slightly less than Corsair's higher end counter parts, but repectable at 3yrs. The cx500v2 should meet the needs of anyone looking for clean power up to a 500w requirement. Single 120mm fan is whisper quiet and it's speed varies based on thermal. I personally would not run this PSU in SLI or crossfire mode, but I'm sure it's possible. Has the requsite number of connectors for SATA, 20+4 power, ATX/EPS 4+4, and PCIe. Cables were long enough for a mid tower. I wouldn't recommend trying to use in a full tower as you might be pressed to get comfortable reach. The 3.3 and 5v rails bench tested solid. I noted voltage fluctuations on the 12v rail, so I am knocking off 1 egg due to this. Wasn't much, but considering the small load I have on it, I would expect it to be more stable. 80+ cert and active PFC are a plus.
Another Awesome Asus Board
Pros: 3 SATA controllers USB 3.0 support Dual Gbit LAN Future proof PCIe 3.0 support All the bells and whistles
Cons: No BIOS update as of this writing. - Sure one is on the way. Board supports 6 SATA devices under z68 chipset 2 are 6.0Gb, 4 are 3Gb. Personally, I would have liked to see 4 SATA III ports. Minor in the big scheme of things
Overall Review: Everything good you expect from Asus. Great build quality. Solid performance. Board is packed with features. Hi ROI - Good investment. This is the board to have at this pricepoint.
Pros: Fast and very quiet. 5900 RPM. Drive is installed as a single disk in a D-Link NAS. Spins up quickly and does run cooler than other 7200RPM disks I have in production. No problem recommending this product.
Cons: Nothing to note. Works as described. 1st gen had reliability problems. I've read this has been resolved. Results may vary until all back stock is cleared.
Overall Review: Can only give 3 eggs at this point since the product is less than a month old. Happy with the purchase. Hope it's reliable.
