Bad out of the box...tweaking fixed it

SCEPTRE X226W-1920 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR(10000:1) 1000:1, US Warranty
SCEPTRE X226W-1920 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR(10000:1) 1000:1, US Warranty

Pros: First off, I bought two of these monitors for 129.99 each off Newegg...tha'ts about as cheap as its gonna get for a 1920x1080 21.5" monitor. Both arrived with no dead pixels which is a miracle in itself. I had to tweak the color settings a bit, but now they both look great.

Cons: The color setting on these things are HORRIBLE out of the box. The reds are neon to say the least. I set the collor temp to 9300k and did some final tweaking using the NVIDIA control panel for my video card and now they both look great.

Overall Review: No dead pixels....friggin awsome..... Horrible color...fixable.... Durability....no tellin....we'll see I guess.... I deducted one egg because of the horrible color situation and the fact that you cant fully fix it using just the monitor. Using the OSD and built in setting I was not able to fully correct the color imbalance so I had to turn to my Video card to help out....no big deal, but other monitors that I have worked with do not have this issue, hence the one egg dropped.....

Good Card So far

EVGA GeForce 9500 GT 512MB DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 512-P3-N954-TR
EVGA GeForce 9500 GT 512MB DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 512-P3-N954-TR

Pros: I bought this card to use for a dual monitor setup so the dual DVI capability for a low price is what sold me. I don't play games so I'm really not that up on the Video Card technical jargon, but I can tell you that the Winamp Visualizations look amazing on this card paired with two Sceptre 21.5" 1920x1080 monitors. Some folks have indicated that the fan on this card is noisy....mine is not.

Cons: None so far, but again, I'm not a gamer so I don't really have a baseline to compare this card to....

Overall Review: I installed SpeedFan and it says the card runs about at about 125 - 135 degrees farenheit....I don't know if that's good or bad or what ?? Seems kinda high to me, but what do I know...if it fries I'll spend the whooping 39.99 and get another one....
