Just what I ordered, but with some caveats

Lenovo Desktop Computer ThinkCentre M92P Small Form Factor SFF Intel Core i5 3rd Gen 3470 3.10 GHz 8 GB 500 GB HDD DVD Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit Bundled USB Wi-Fi Dongle

Overall Review: My rating is based on the physical product, but I have some concerns expressed below. I wanted a small-form-factor (SFF) desktop with enough power and RAM to do some personal activities, like slide scanning and web surfing, and this unit with a I5 Intel processor and 8GB of RAM was just right and very affordable. The Windows performance score was 5.1. Even though it was advertised as a Windows 7 machine, it was always my intention to upgrade immediately to Windows 10 (which is still possible at no cost), so having an earlier Windows version was not a problem. It has plenty of USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, Displayport and VGA video, and a DVD-RW drive, so it will be very serviceable for my purposes. No keyboard or mouse was included, but it was not advertised to have those. The unit did have a few minor cosmetic flaws, but I had no expectations that my refurbished unit would be in pristine condition after coming back from an enterprise lease situation. None of the flaws will affect the operation of the computer itself, as they are all on the case surface and not anything inside the case. I am happy with my purchase. HOWEVER... 1) It did NOT come with the advertised USB WiFi dongle. This could be problem for some purchasers who don't have access to a wired Internet connection. 2) In addition, although it was advertised as coming with Windows 7 Professional, the only Windows licensing key I found was the label on the side of the machine, which appeared worn and looked like it might be the key assigned to the original owner instead of a new OEM Windows 7 key. When I tried to activate Windows 7, using the key on the sticker, it was rejected as invalid. Luckily for me, I had a valid Windows 7 Professional key I could use, but other purchasers might not be so fortunate. 3) When I opened the case, I was disappointed that refurbishing the machine apparently did not include blowing out accumulated dust on fans and other areas of the motherboard and installed peripherals, which I felt I had to do, not knowing how much dust might have accumulated on the machine if it was deployed originally in an area that had high dust levels. I have to give Micro Technology Concepts (MCT), the refurbishing company, a grade of C- on fulfilling their refurbishing pledge. Their omissions were not overly consequential for me personally, but could adversely affect other purchasers and make their experience more difficult to overcome to get their machine working well for them.

Count me in! Windows Hello works well.

Kensington VeriMark IT Fingerprint Key - FIDO2/WebAuth, Windows Hello & Windows Hello for Business (K64704WW)
Kensington VeriMark IT Fingerprint Key - FIDO2/WebAuth, Windows Hello & Windows Hello for Business (K64704WW)

Pros: Adds a fingerprint reader to an older PC or laptop which doesn't have one. Makes your Windows login easy, requiring just a touch to get you signed in.

Cons: This may NOT be everyone's experience, but when I let Windows 10 download the driver (using Windows Update), the device did not seem to work intially. I went to the Kensington web site and downloaded the Windows 7/8 driver, installed it, and everything has worked well ever since. I haven't checked to see whether Windows Update has updated the driver to the most recent version that was installed initially.

Overall Review: I would recommend this device as a way to secure your PC or laptop in an easy-to-use way that makes protecting your computer easy and getting to work quick and painless.

Out performs my Samsung EVO 860 SSD by 4X

Intel 665p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 3D3, QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNW010T9X1
Intel 665p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 3D3, QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNW010T9X1

Pros: Very fast. The benchmark program shows it is 4 times faster than my Samsung EVO 860 SSD. Less expensive intro (for me) into the M.2 format for data storage From a trusted name in memory products

Cons: Nothing so far. I can't say it exceeded my expectations because I didn't know what to expect vs my SSD drives.

Overall Review: I would recommend this as a good product for those who may not want to throw large sums of money at a technology they are, as yet, unfamiliar with (like me). I've owned more than 6 different SSD's, and have had great experience with them all (no failures yet...knock on wood). The M.2 format is new to me, even though I've built my own PC's for decades. I recently purchased my first motherboard that accepts M.2 storage cards, so this Intel purchase was my first for that format, and I was happy to purchase a top tier brand name at an attractive price. So far, I'm very pleased.

This is the second Team Group SSD I've bought and I'm pleased, again.

Team Group GX2 2.5" 1TB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253X2001T0C101

Pros: Certainly a bargain, but without sacrificing quality and reliability.

Cons: None that matter to me. I realize there are faster SSD's, but I don't need that for my everyday usage, and there's no advantage to me to pay for the highest performance levels I won't see affecting my daily activities.

Overall Review: I previously purchased a Team Group SSD to speed up my Mac Mini, and it made a tremendous difference, making what used to be a multi-minute boot-up into one taking less than 30 seconds. That drive has functioned perfectly since installation and was one of the prime reason I decided to buy the GX2 SSD as a replacement for a 256GB SSD in a newly-purchased Dell desktop refurb. I used Paragon's Hard Drive Manager to copy the entire boot-up drive from the 256GB to the new 1 TB Team Group. The process was quick (SSD to SSD) and the newly-installed Team Group GX2 has performed flawlessly ever since. I realize that there are probably SSD drives with better transfer speeds, but I'm not one to constantly strive to be on the bleeding edge of performance. I believe that buying such high-end products may mean varying levels of compatibility with equipment I'm likely to buy or already have that need upgrades. So I am content to have a product that improves the performance of my PC's while giving me years of reliable service. I will buy Team Group again when I need inexpensive storage for my "normal" computer user requirements.

Works like a charm!

Crucial 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model CT2K16G4DFD824A
Crucial 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model CT2K16G4DFD824A

Pros: This RAM was not the most expensive, but not the least expensive either. I was looking for a brand name I trusted and a reasonable price for some new RAM for a new Ryzen-based motherboard. This pair of DDR4 SDRAM modules was added to my existing 16GB to bring me to 48GB of RAM, the most I've had. So far no problems and the headroom when running multiple applications is very nice.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I would recommend this RAM to "normal" users who are interested in giving their PC's some extra "umph" for a modest price. High-flying gamers will probably not find this RAM has the performance for overclocking that they desire, but they'll pay more for that feature. Not me.

I was looking for a larger larger SSD, and then this was on sale for $100!

Team Group L5 3D 2.5" 1TB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253TD001T3C101
Team Group L5 3D 2.5" 1TB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253TD001T3C101

Pros: Installed without issue, copied smaller SSD image to the new drive without any problem, was able to boot to the new drive. Speedy startup and program loading. So far this is the least expensive SDD for 1TB that I have seen. Product is made in Taiwan, not ROC (for those who may be wondering if electronics produced in mainland China are safe and secure).

Cons: None so far...

Overall Review: So far, I would recommend this to other buyers. I did purchase the 3-year SquareTrade protection for less than $9, but even with that added, the total purchase price was below that of other brands. I will definitely be backing up this drive (as I do with all my SSD's). Any SSD can fail so badly that nothing is recoverable on it, so full image backups are essential and are the best practice. I will update this review if any issues come to light.

My experience (sample size = 1) was not good

I ordered a two-bay USB3 drive cloning device from ORICO. When I attached it to my computers with USB3 ports, they were not recognized by the computers (two different ones). When I submitted a request for an RMA, NewEgg was ready to assist with that transaction, but I received an email message from ORICO, signed by someone calling themselves Abby. Her command of English was very flawed, and I had a hard time determining what she was proposing. She asked me to try various troubleshooting techniques, all of which I had tried already and documented in my RMA request to NewEgg. She also seemed to be indicating that there was a driver I should use with the device, although there was no driver CD included with the device. When I visited the ORICO web site, which is NOT friendly to English-speakers, I could not find the device I ordered shown in any of the support pages, so I was unable to locate the required driver, if indeed there is one. I should also note that even though Abby was emailing me directly, every web address reference in her email message was blocked and replaced with a notification message to that effect. Since I use Yahoo Mail, I have never seen this occur in any other message, so I have to assume the blocking was coming from Abby's ORICO email system. I tried to explain this to her in two replies to her messages, telling her to place the web URL in a ASCII text file and attach it to her message, but she apparently could not understand what I was trying to get her to do, as she never complied with my request. After two replies to her, she did not reply to me further, and I completed my RMA return for a full credit.
