works great
Pros: I bought this to be a bridge. It connects to my wireless network and then I can plug devices into its ethernet ports. Its been running a couple months now with zero issues. Great way to make a wired only device, like an old Tivo in my case, wireless.
Cons: I couldn't get it to work at first. The interface is pretty clunky and the options to do what I wanted didn't even seem to be in the interface. I then found out it was running old firmware. I updated the firmware and then within moments I had it all configured and working exactly as I wanted. I haven't had to touch the configuration since.
Overall Review: If you buy this, update the firmware immediately. I'm giving it 4 stars only because while it works perfectly, even after updating the firmware, the user interface for configuring it is pretty clunky.
no audio outputs
Pros: Between work and home I've owned at least a half dozen or so Samsung CD and/or DVD burners. They're all extremely reliable, fast and they're all awesome at ripping music from audio CDs. Much better for ripping than other brands.
Cons: Apparently Samsung has decided to cut costs, at least on this particular model, this is the first CD and/or DVD drive I've ever seen with non functioning audio outputs. (The outputs are physically there but its engraved in great big letters right on the top of the drive that the audio outputs are non-functional)
Overall Review: If you've never used Lightscribe, the results are pretty darn cool and its quick and easy to use. Having said that I've actually ever only burned a handful of Lightscribe dics but for the couple extra bucks it adds to the cost of I drive I always go ahead make sure I get drives that are Lightscribe capable just in case I ever want to use it.
